Wurth Silver Wheel Paint on OEM split 5-spoke rims

Has anyone actually used this paint on these rims for touch up? I have seen many places that say that this paint is a perfect match for just about all silver German wheels. That grand statement has me a little skeptical and I have yet to see anyone put it on a split 5-spoke. Before a drop nearly $25 a can on spray paint, I want to be sure it is exactly the same.

So, has anyone used this paint as touch up for these rims:

I had difficulty with that paint - spent close to $100 on the spray cans trying different methods. I am not a professional but worked with a friend who had painted other rims before. We never could seem to get it right and went with a different color completely.

Keep in mind that rattle can paint is never going to look exactly the same as the OEM finish, especially silver metallic.

So, whether or not you will be happy with the result all depends on your expectations and level of experience with painting. It may be a decent match, but I doubt its going to be exact. If you are painting the entire set, you might be better off going with a color you like from a local store.

Speaking to the color match, I've not used it on Audi wheels, but have had great luck with it on Mercedes wheels. I have owned those wheels, and just from memory (which can be dangerous) I'd be skeptical of the color match. FWIW, 1Z offers a similar product, and I've heard the color match on Audi wheels is spot-on. If you're interested, both Detailer's Domain and Autogeek sell the 1Z product. Autogeek also offers a kit that includes a can of Wurth clearcoat. Speaking to the latter, you'll want to follow the color with clear, regardless of brand, to get as close of a match as possible.

As alluded above, like any painting project, your results will reflect your expectations, and certainly the prep work and quality of overall effort. If you're looking for a DIY project, this is a great one. I've done a few curb rash repair and touchup projects, and they're fun and fairly rewarding. Nonetheless, if you really want professional results, there are a lot of repair/refinish vendors out there that offer their services at reasonable rates. Good luck...
