Tips to remove door sill trim?

Hey guys, I hope all is well in your corner of the Audi Universe.

I want to get access under my C5 sedan floor carpets to change, of all things, the floor mat retaining clips (I'm sick of my mats having a mind of their own). Anyone got tips or pointers on how to remove the plastic trim and scuff plates on the door sills (front and rear) without breaking any hidden/unseen clips (they don't seem to be screwed down)? Any DIY's or diagrams maybe? Cheers. M

Hope this helps. The lower A-pillar has to be loosened to get at the tab that is under there. Open the little plastic cap here:

Then undo the philips screw underneath that cap and the philips screw above it in the recess:

Then just pull it up in front:

Pull it up from the rear:

Slide it out from under the B-pillar:

To really get at the carpet in front, you also have to remove the from seat and the dead pedal

Sweet stuff BostonDriver. That's exactly the kind of info I was after. Excellent pics too. I appreciate it heaps. Hopefully I can get just enough access under the carpet without having to remove the seat. Fingers crossed. Cheers. M
