Beware: One particualr Ebay rear B8 diffuser to avoid.

I purchased this diffuser since I liked the styling. Reasons to avoid:

1. Seller lies in the description. The diffuser is NOT unpainted. It is painted in crappy cheap textured black paint that cracks and chips easily with any bending. You don't want to pay to have it color matched just to find out you poured the money down the toilet because of the crappy base coat they put on it.

2. Seller tried to deny it's paint.....even when faced with pictures.....then he thinks profanity in his emails will get him someplace.

3. Seller doe not protect the item for shipment. He stuck the part in a box +2x as big as the item with zero packing material. So the diffuser bounced around the box causing damage from SoCal all the way to Michigan. This is how I found out that the item IS painted.

4. After the items is damaged due to his lack of due diligence, he has the audacity to tell you he will not do anything for you until FEDEX damage claim is resolved.

5. The seller expects YOU to pay for the return shipping when the item is misrepresented and damaged in shipping due to his lack of due diligence.



Needless to say, I called AMEX and had them reverse the charges on the payment. This why i still pay with CC on ALL my Paypal transaction. This SOB can send me a return shipping label if he wants his POS product back!

It's well made overall, the crappy topcoat just kills it. The finish is smooth underneath the paint so im not sure why they couldn't just left it as is....

Edit:saw ad say 7.5 inch wide openings.

the openings are about 7.5" in width.

The diffuser came in a heat-sealed "made in china" clear plastic sock so doubtful about the return.

Sounds like they used some really bad primer....
You going to refinish it and install?
You have a quad setup?

I've got a dual setup and would have to modify the holes to close 3.5 inches.
Anyway do post pics if you install.

Damn I was going to order that two days ago! I bought a carbon fiber valence from cnjautofans and the quality SUCKS BALLS. Granted I bought it and didn't install for a few months but right away the cf was cracking and after the install you see it coming off a bit from the backing. Think it was just wrapped in carbon fiber.

Beginning to hate these Chinese ebayers more and more and more..

I'm no expert but that does not look like it's ready for or even meant to be painted. That crack is weird too. It looks like it has some kind of sprayed on vinyl coating.

the polyurethane or what not is smooth. They painted it with this black textures paint to give it the textured look of raw plastic that unpainted body trims usually have. Needless to say, they failed.

Style is not bad.
Maybe try to sand it smooth then primer again.
Or you could just vinyl wrap it and it will be much smoother.

That AWE diffuser is a big pile of dog shit my friend. Many poor reviews here... Hope it works out for you however, best of luck.

I wish I saw this post earlier....
From experience as well bought that diffuser months ago off ebay, got the tips for a custom exhaust and made sure of the measurements of the openings, doesn't fit. I emailed him a few times and said that the tips were too big, no $hit, and kept giving me different measurements from what was advertised. He said that there wouldn't be an issue with melting, then another email stating that if the pipes touch it would melt. It's cheap garbage, if there is such a thing. Wanted $20 to ship back and a "return" fee to "re-condition" the part. I should of just told paypal to reverse the charges, never got around to it. The clips don't even reach from end to end.

I feel your pain....wish I had an s-line rear bumper. The silver stripe is not straight and the fitment is an 8 out of 10. The middle of the diffuser bumps out more that my bumper.

FYI, per PayPal rules you must first raise the objection with them. If your credit card company reverses the charges, and you didn't allow PayPal to resolve the complaint, PayPal will cancel your account. You say you always do that, but you can really only do that one time before they cancel your account. it's been their policy forever. Just want to make sure others don't start thinking this is the way to go. PayPal is fully aware people try and go around their resolution policies.

Im not a paypal expert ( i usually avoid places that use paypal such as ebay so never really used them (and i know i may pay more for my products, but i invest in peace of mind along with quality)) but couldnt the OP just open a new paypal account? I do know that AMEX is phenomenal with this sort of thing and i have heard that Paypal disputes can take a significant amount of time.
