Thumbs up 2.0TFSI MPG with Revo Stage 2

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi,
Was out driving for about 2 hrs , 140km (one way) and when I check the computer I had 6.8l/100km. I asked google to convert to MPG and the result was 34.6 MPG.
I find this to be very good number and I was not able to get such numbers when the ECU was stock. The fuel I am using is 98RON.

Oh an my car is the A4 B8 2.0TFSI (TSI) 2012 Avant Quattro 6MT.

What is the difference between Revo 2 and Stasis? I'm still not familiar with these names. Is Revo just the flash of software?

    Regards,
I just came back from a trip from Charleston to Asheville that was about 4 hours each way and was doing 79-95 MPH on average and got 33.7 MPG heading up into the mountians and 34.6 MPG on the way back with APR stage 2 on 93 octane. I was very happy with the results.

damn thats good, makes me wanna get a tune sooner. i usually get around 27mpg on stock, with avg 75-85 driving, but the other day i drove like 60 miles while cruising around 80 and got 33mpg, and i thought that was high. would love to get 30+ consistently without having to be a slug :P

The most I have ever gotten on highway, which was cruise control at 72 mph, was 31.9. Majority of the time on the highway I get between 26 and 27. Hopefully a tune will help out alot, especially in the city where I get 16.

    Nice.

I would imagine your HFC (and exhaust) and the tune (could be running slightly leaner) are helping.

How does the computer match to calculating the fuel efficiency from amount of your fillup l/km driven (or over here distance/gal)? I had to reduce my computer's estimate by 10% (MPG) to match reality. After that the best I've seen was one ~50 mile trip of 95% hwy driving at about 65 mph that showed 34 mpg, but for my mixed driving I usually average just under 25 MPG.

The computer is calculating liter/100km (liter pr. 100km) so only the last 100km you drive is taken into calculation. Say you drive 300km, the first 200km you can drive like crazy and the last 100km you drive you drive like a priest. Then the total used gas for this trip wont match the computer.
Or at least this is they way I understand this. Pleas correct me if I am wrong.

    Regards,
I know the 2010 models added an efficiency program that the '09's didn't have, so your car may be different than mine...

On the Prem+ 2009 models here in the states, there are 2 trip computers - each will keep track of average fuel economy, miles, time, average speed, and displays an "instantaneous" MPG . "Trip 1" will reset if the car is off for more than 2 hours, and "Trip 1" will not reset until you do it manually. I always use "Trip 2" to keep track of the numbers for each tank of gas, and only reset it when I fill up. By using the miles per tank and gallons per tank, I get a "real" economy figure - I had to use the ross-tech VCDS program to adjust the computer's "Trip 2" efficiency downward by 10% to get it to match the hand calculation.

It's been my experience that Audi's fuel economy displays are about 7-10% optimistic - my B5 was about 8%, my B8 was 9-10% before I corrected the computer.

That explains why my 2009 was getting horrible gas mileage...however, with my REVO stage 2, I got 36mpg (manually did the calculation), but I know I could definitely do better than that if I try. HFC's and testpipes help the engine breathe so much better. As long as you are doing highway miles you can get great mpg's

On my Trip 2 I don't have miles per tank. I only have liter/100km. Or at least I cant remember to have seen miles/tank or km/tank.

Which performance mode do you run your Revo software on?

Yes, you are wrong. The reading is "presented" in l/100km, because that's what the standard in Europe is. Based on your logic you would have no reading for the first 100km. Cycle through your trip computer screens and you will find a reading that updates every few seconds. Just think a little before posting such BS.

Yes, this was my understanding that you will only see the usage for the last 100km and that you would not see the first 200km ( not 100km coz 300km-100km = 200km, simple math ;) )
I see now that I am wrong and that the computer will calc the usage for the whole trip or from last reset.

Well, It was not that I knew I was wrong and posted it just to piss some one off. It was coz I was under the impression that I was right.
And yes, I did think of it before I posted it. This is something I have been thinking of for a very long time and when I ask other I get different answers.
Also this is a discussion forum and I can post whatever I like or ask for whatever I like. If I say something and I am wrong then I don't have any problem admitting it.
You don't need to sound like an ass just because you was right and I was wrong.
