Guys... do these engines use alot of oil ?
I have been driving for about 1800km and seems like it has "used" alot of oil.. like from mid on the measure "pin" to minium.
Have refilled to max now and reset tripteller to 0.0 to see how much it uses.

    If it's german, it leaks!

You'll start having to add a quart sooner and sooner over time. If you get to the point that you are doing so every 1000 miles, you might want to look into replacing your PCV with either a stock replacement or a catch can.

Also, take off your oil cap and smell it for oil. If you boost a lot you might get gas mixed in with your oil (happens to me on 100 octane a lot). Thats bad, as it causes more wear on the engine (keeps oil from lubricating). Just means that it is important you do oil changes more frequently.

Yeah, but strange. Ive had E46 325 BMW without any problems with oil comsumption and Audi A4 B7 1.8TQ 2007 mod which didnt use either.. abit strange... but the retailers say that 0,5 liter for 1000km is normal ?? :P I dont find that normal!
Oil cap and smell for oil? Wouldnt that be obvious? You mean gasoline cap maybe? (Maybe I just misunderstand what you are saying

Hehe, you're excused! Btw, I havent smelled any gasoline from there - so I guess thats not the problem.

But I do have read alot on the web today and yesterday and it seems like some have encountered the same problem, but others havent... just strange how 98.000km run engine consume so much.. But then again, I have been driving very hard ;p

Cheers! Same to you. I must admit I like the car better with aftermarket wheels and a bit lower, but its still a beautiful car - and the color pops just right!

The grill is a modified RS4 B7 grill (original one I believe) - and was already customized before I took over this car, so I cant say much more than that.

    Whats your plans? :)

    You mean the TTRS ?
Yeah, but the wheels look alot better in real than on pics, and I think they will come more out when I get it lowered (set to be done next wednesday - pics will come ;)
Anyways, I have only got positive response on the wheels in real life, and I think they probably are a bit hate or love kinds.

I will most likely will swap to VMR V710 next year anyhow - in gunmetal, meanwhile I will try Plasti dip on those I got now with matt black + silver metalizer.

Looks nice, what kind of paint is it on your wheels ? I take it that you spraypainted the OEM "18s ?
Btw, you got your own thread or more pics ?

The wheels (OEM) were already painted when I bought the car. Will try to make an own thread in near future. You can find some pictures here: http://s750.photobucket.com/albums/xx141/jlyytikka/DTM/

I'm planning on getting 19" TSW Interlagos as new summer wheels and leaving the OEM wheels for winter. The TSW wheels will be probably painted to the same colour as the OEM audi titanium wheels.
