    2010 S5 to 2013 S5 headlights upgrade possible ?

I just got hit on a parking lot by a stupid lady in a GLK. Her insurance company will pay for a new headlight (one) and a complete new bumper.

I started contemplating of taking advantage of this accident and upgrading to 2013 front with the new style headlights. It seems that getting the new headlights and a new bumper should do the trick. Obviously, I would have to pay for the second, undamaged headlight out of my pocket, plus the rears if I decide to the the full swap.

Anyone knows what parts will be needed ? Anything except new headlights and a new bumper ?

    From this:

    To that:

And before someone asks - my car has only 14k miles and is already fully paid. So yeah, it does make sense to do the swap vs getting a brand new car.

    actually...

sometimes insurance will pay for both headlights because they are usually sold in pairs. This happened to me once.

also, consider talking to your shop guy to find out the value allotted for purchasing the new headlight(s). since dealer prices are being used, you can likely find cheaper headlights from third-party sources yourself, (ahem, Jens here on audizine,) and then give these to the shop to install.

i went from bone stock front on my b6, to full ultrasport with ecodes after an accident.

Yeah, I have already figured out that I would need a new grill, new fog lights and foglight grilles.

The new hood would be a bummer though. Not to mention fenders.

How do you know they are any different ? Look very similar too me. Did you check with ETKA ?

If you search more on this forum or A50C there was this one guy who got it done on sportsback model.

You would have to reprogram your S5 too with VAGCOM. I have the new facelift E-codes and tested them out on my S5. They don't work 100% correctly so they're not just plug and play.

Wouldn't that be a downgrade to go from the unreleased futuristic 2110YR S5 to the 2013YR S5. I'd stick with the newer headlights.
