RS5 all the way. First of all we are not even sure if this car is/ when going to production. and even if it produced, there is a high chance that the first year wont make it to the US.
And second of all, the design of the R5 looks too "futuristic", the RS5 on the other hand has that audi class. But that's just me

The Rs5 is not exiting anymore....just that it is now new in the US doesn't make it better...the new S5 tuned will even beat it...
The A5 is a nice design...but common....look at the design of the R5...that is a huge step forward!

I hope the R5 will be build and then I know what my next car will be!

do you really think audi will make a car whos msrp is almost $30k cheaper something that will outperform only 1 of its 2 rs models in the US?

I am not saying its impossible...just highly doubt audi would neuter its first US RS5 within a calendar year....

In what way will a new S5 tuned "beat" it? I'm sure you can tune the new S5 to accelerate quicker in a straight line. I could buy a 2000 S4 and tune it to beat it. For that matter I could buy a 1999 Honda civic and tune it to beat it. there's a lot more to a car than how fast it accelerates in straight line. I'll take a stock RS5 over a tuned S5 any day! If the RS5 is lacking excitement, your '12 S5 is really boring.

Comparing a concept car with erroneous information to a real production car is ludicrous. There definitely is not going to be an R5 for sale anytime in the near future. When and if it ever becomes a real car it likely will first be introduced in a more docile form. Then after a couple model years they'll introduce a higher performance version. So you may be stuck with your ultra boring S5 for sometime.

I like my S5 but the certain kick what the design study of the R5 promises makes me want to change...this I call exitement!
To upgrade now from my S5 to a RS5 I do not really see reasonable. I like the RS5...but it is just too little more then the S5.
I do not consider the track use of the cars....as for that there every GTR or Porsche will give you more.

If I use the same money for the RS5 and invest it in the new S5 I sure get the better car!
The RS5 motor is for me the weak link on the RS5...

It's just my opinion and I would say I know cars and how to drive them...
Don't be upsad and enjoy your new RS5 it is a nice car...maybe I'm just jealous that you get theses cars so cheap in US what makes it easy to swapp.

Let me explain it to you.

He meant that if you just do a ECU tune on a V6T S5 it will be quicker in a straight line than a RS5. Just a ECU tune on a civic or a S2000 will not beat a S5 or a RS5.

I am not saying all that matters in a car is its straight line performance, I'm just explaining to you what he tried to communicate.

Ok, so I'll accept up to 70K if it really looks sexy and is at least as fast around corners as the TT-RS.

HATE to dig up such and OLD ticket, but since I came across this ticket while searching for R5 info.
    http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Secret-...-here-in-2015/

Seems like it has been given the green light to go into production. However based off the numbers it will be around the "current" S5 in HP, but lighter. Seems like an S5 HP bump is almost guaranteed, R5 isn't powerful enough to make me get one maybe if a R5 V6 Plus comes out or an R6 is created.
