06A engine swap (tranverse 06A to longitudinal 06A)

I did a bit of search here and would just like a confirmation from you guys who has actually done a swap.

Is it possible to use a long block tranversely mounted 06A(AUQ engine from an audi TT to be specific) and fit them to a 2001 B6 (longitudinally mounted 06A).

Friend of mine wants to do the swap and would do the swap and use his existing parts(exhaust/intake manifold, etc) to make the swap possible.

    Yay or Nay :)

    Thanks boys

Jesse, thats more like a longitudinally mounted 058 conversion to a tranversely mounted 06A on a TT.

A longitudinal 1.8t is actually a 06B, I believe some of the mounting points for the accessory brackets are slightly different, though for the most part everything is swap-able, just got to have all the longitudinal components.

I guess once you have it home it will be very easy to identify the differences.. Doesn't sound like much work at all.

Spoke to the VW tech at work and he said the same thing militant grunt said over here.

I'm just curious about "grinding the thermostat area".
