    Hey AZ,

Car threw some codes today and turns out my EVAP Purge Valave needs to be replaced. An independent Audi mechanic I go to quoted my $210 for the job. Does that sound about right?

Not a clue, but if you would like I can call my guy tomorrow and have him quote me just to be sure.

You can replace the purge valve by yourself. I just had mine replaced for my 08 A6 3.2 and I watched the Indy replace it. After watching him I could have done it myself in 5 minutes and it only took him 5 minutes. I bought the part for $13.00 from genuine audi parts. My Indy only charged me $25.00 for labor. All you need is a needle nose plyers to pinch the clamps holding the 2 hoses on so you can take those 2 hoses off. Trust me it's a very easy DIY. Check out my post pasted below from Audi World. I have the purge valve part number listed.

^^^And this is why all quotes from a dealership should be in question. Unless it is covered under warranty, there really is no reason to have a dealership working on your car. IMO of course.
