halo rings working but not bright, do I have them wired wrong?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have aftermarket headlights on my b6 a4, when i got the car the halo rings were not hooked up so I wired the rings into the driving light harness on each side so they would come on when l turn on day time lights. I dont think they are as bright as they should be though, especially what ive seen on bmws and others audi's..
so how have you guys wired in the halo rings on each side? i would like them to be brighter, doesnt matter if i have to run wiring just need advice

    thanks

I think he meant "BMW" halos on an Audi. I never got the point either.

the rings aren't the main light source, right? they are supposed to be on the dim side. you should have HID bulbs in there too, right? it's an option when you buy the housings; with or without HIDs

btw..the halo lights look good on an audi. it's not like he put them on a douchestang or something.

Probably the only crowd that doesn't get flamed for stealing features found on other make cars are the Honda kids. ;-)

I think a little compassion should be expressed in this case; it seems they were on the car when he bought them.

The halo shouldn't overpower the actual headlight so I would assume it's natural for them to be dimmer.

HOWEVER, get rid of them. They are not fitting to the car. Save up and look around for actual Audi headlights (PLEASE DO NOT GET THE LED TYPE) and if you're feeling real ambitious, get some Ecodes.

Aftermarket halos are very dim, doesn't matter how you wire them their not going to get brighter. I would take everyones suggestion and get some ecodes.

i saw some on a mustang the other day, they belong on a BMW only in my opinion.

i think the problem is just that your Audi is rejecting them!

Unfortunately all of those likely have atrocious optics. May as well hook up some flashlights inside your housings.

    yum.
those have absolutely awful light output, and it's even worse with a HID kit installed. At least get the version with the D1S projectors and them use OEM bulbs/ballasts

ECode BI-Xenon's are really the way to go, the output is amazing and it really changes the appearance of the front end more then i thought. wouldn't trade them for anything.

I've never seen them built on the outside to begin with, so i dont know how that makes it any better.

This type of problem is why you should just stick with an OEM upgraded housing like ecodes or bixenons made by valeo. I'm not even fond of the aftermarket LED devil eye lights on b6's, but its definitely better than angel eyes.

Easily the best purchase i've made for my car

thats just the housings, you still need ballasts and bulbs. all new you are looking at around $1800 for a set of S4 ecode bi-xenons.
i found a 6 month old setup that you could not tell wasn't brand new for $1000 and snagged it asap.

And if you don't mind a little fabrication, you can have a brand new set of blacked out bixenon "ecodes" with better than OEM light output for half of what you paid for your used set - housings, bulbs, balasts, everything. DIY coming soon
