    Very Angry with dipyourcar.com!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I ordered my kit last wednesday and in a confirmation email it told me that i should receive a tracking number from UPS quantum within 48 hours of my purchase. I did not receive anything at all. I then emailed them yesterday morning and have not gotten a response back. On one of the videos of fonzie dipping a car it says that he will get back to you within an hour of your inquiry. Has any of this happened to you guys before? Just angry because of the lack of communication when it said 1 hour.

    Thanks,
    Alex

Yea, it took me a while to get my plasti-dip, it sprayed like ass, and i ended up not using it. I sent them an email, they replied a few weeks later, but i gave up on it.

he used to be on the forums way more often too. I think he's just swamped - like literally having a hard time keeping up with business. I think it exploded on him.

That is exactly it. He opened up a shop a few doors down from us and he is SWAMPED with massive amounts of orders and in-store business. He has hired quite a few employees as well.

Remember: This is a relatively BRAND NEW business, so the kinks have to be worked out. The business still needs time to mature. Online businesses are, by no means, easy to manage.

Funny, I set up a meeting earlier this week with a couple of our Merch and Replinishment VP's to discuss a few items including getting plastidip in more Lowe's stores in more variety. I have enjoyed tinkering with it and I have found only Lowe's has black and no other plastidip product. A little help. If were to recommend say 5 products what should they be? Black, white, gunmetal, glossifier, etc....
And I am sure I will only be able to get some tests going for now. Throw out some metro markets that you believe this stuff will move. Id say I could get 20 tests approved. I honestly believe once the word got out we would have no issues moving it. And I would like the convenience to just go pick it up or order through our new contact centers and have it fast with little to no ship costs.

Guys, (Thanks Brent for putting this in front of me)

Most of you are right on point about being swamped. I think the best thing to do right now would be to get a little wordy and explain exactly what's going on - so that there is no confusion about DipYourCar and our intent to do business.

This company was started as an on the side, "let's see what happens" type thing. I was running it myself out of a small warehouse for the first couple of months. We now average over 90 orders per day, 600 emails per day (including inquiries), and lord knows how many phone calls. We've been in business for 7 months. To be honest - we do not have the staff to keep up with the demand. Not only the demand in product, but the demand for communication. Imagine how many people want to ask questions about their project every day.

The facts are myself, and 6 other individuals are working 7am-9pm days 7 days a week; have been for almost 2 months. We are in that classic "skyrocket growth, but haven't been in business long enough for a bank business loan" stage. On top of that - we are buying PlastiDip out of certain products on a monthly basis.

First and foremost - I apologize to anyone we didn't get back to in a timely manner. For those who I or my team have spoke to, you know how much we care about you guys and try to get to everyone. We are sending the product out as fast as it comes in, and out intent is never to ignore a customer email or phone call.

I'm pleased to say however that we have 3 new people starting in the next 10 days. Our warehouse has expanded as of yesterday. We are taking the steps needed to address these challenges. Like someone here said - I used to be on the forums every day. I haven't had a chance to do any of my daily routines.

Thanks for understanding guys. This thread was like a punch in the gut as I read through it. Just realize that we are trying as hard as we can to catch up :)

I also ordered Plasti Dip before I realized that they dont ship to Hawaii. I sent an email and received a quick response saying they understand and will refund my payment. Its now been two weeks and I still havent get my refund back, but I understand how busy they must be. Hopefully my situation will be resolved soon.

If you're angry now, imagine how angry you would be after you've wasted hours plasti-dipping your ride only to find out that it looks like absolute shit. There's a plasti-dipped bike that is always parked near my work...it's looks horrible. I. sure a dipped car would be even worse.

That's probably due to installer error. I can vouch for dipyourcar. Every car that comes out of his bay looks great. Including our technicians BMW

I have nothing but good things to say about plastidip. I ordered a can of white last week and was able to add a can of glossifier to the order before it shipped out thanks to Bennett. Granted I haven't received them yet, but it was just processed on Monday so I wasn't expecting next day shipping.

I agree with Brent. I've seen both ends of the spectrum, and while some do look terrible, I've seen some really smooth and great looking plastidipped cars as well.

PlastiDip is no different than any other paint type product. Everyone, unless professionally trained, has a different style and skill level. Put 20 people into a room with cans of regular spraypaint and see if all of their projects come out looking exactly the same.

The Dip, when applied correctly, will have a smooth, even finish.

X2 for this, it may take someone a couple tries to get it down. When I did my Grill it came out great the SECOND time, first time I had some bubbles and re-did it. Also have had it on my interior trim for 7 months and still looks great.

Hey Fonz, when you get the time, can you make a vid tutorial on how to dip the S4/S5/A5 grille in matt black? and also the s-line sideblades.

Painting is a professional trade just like any other. It's a wonder why people think they can just make spray painted items look like an HD photo!?!?! Anyways, what would really be cool is bottled plasti-dip to be placed into a paint gun. That would make the finish look so much more better. But even still, painting is still a trade.
