So I bought Rims and Tires....(I'm in CT)

and I've been calling some local shops to mount, install, balance, etc..the while nine yards....and all of them said they can't do that because it's a "liability", you have to purchase the tires and wheels from them. wtf??

Is there any shop in CT or anywhere close to Fairfield County that can hook me up??

Try your local Mavis. That's where I go. But if you want to be sure your wheels don't end up being scratched, search harder. Matter of fact, I'm pretty sure there is a vendor on here located in CT. Not sure which one, and they may chime in soon.

I believe Xcelerate is in CT. If not, RCT in Queens, NY does all our wheels. Even 20s. Tell Ryan, RJ (or warren sent ya), he'll know to take good care of ya.

Talked to their rep and Woody's Automotive is one of only 3 places in the Tri-state with the Auto34 touchless machine, so worth it. Plus the owner let me watch over his shoulder while he mounted all 4 tires.

A few members from AZ have taken the trip to him.

Mavies is cheap, but they don't give a fuck and scratch ur rims.

I wouldn't go there unless I put my snows on, last time i went they nicked my wheels when using the gun.

The town fair tire by me (in Branford) will install your tires as long as they are used. Its an odd policy, i know, but just remove the stickers and tell them they are used. Its like $80 for mounting, balancing, and everything.

International Tire in Manchester, CT does a great job and will mount new or used tires on any wheels you bring in. Just had a set mounted today for my track setup. $120 for mount & balance. I was in and out in literally 10 minutes, so the slightly higher cost was well worth it to me!! And they do good work - very honest and helpful

I've had good luck with Precision Brakeworks in Ridgefield. If you want a dealer, Danbury Audi will do it and IIRC quoted me 120.

I've begun to get mixed feelings on speedsport lately... level of work for non-porsche customers has become less than stellar.

fetzer in westport is another great shop, but they have a strange policy about mounting tires as well. They won't mount them unless you buy from them, IIRC.
