Talking (Potential) Bluetooth Streaming [A2DP] solution

I know there have been a LOT of posts on this and other Audi forums about the lack of built-in A2DP streaming support. I've also seen posts where, for whatever reason, the Audi MMI Bluetooth adapter hasn't worked for a bunch of people.

Well I guess we might have a solution now. I need to mention though that I haven *not* tested this myself, but logically speaking, it should just work.

I just got hold of my new phone and casually browsing around for accessories on the HTC site, I ran across this page where they talk about a Car StereoClip. This little thing just plugs into a 3.5mm port (I guess we need an MMI 3.5mm adapter for it first), pairs with your device and BOOM! All your podcasts, Pandora, Spotify streams play through your car speakers, with calls being routed as well.

The probability of this working is much higher because it is completely decoupled from the MMI's shenanigans. I'll try and grab one of these in the next few days to see how it works. Anyone who wants to give it a shot can buy the adapter from here.

Although it is an HTC branded dongle, since it supports the standard Bluetooth A2DP stack, I see no logical reason whatsoever for this to not work with other devices (Apple products excluded, since Apple doesn't always follow logic ).

Interesting, how much is a 3.5mm adapter for our cars? I would also like to raise my middle finger to Audi for not including such a basic plug on the car.

The only problem here is that this devise will need to be charged. So you can't just keep it plugged in and it will always work.

+1... Miccus makes a great 3.5mm bluetooth receiver, however it has to be charged every 6 hours of use.

Given that it will turn off if it doesn't sense data transmission, I see myself probably having to charge it for an hour or so once a week. In all honesty, given the almost absolute lack of a reliable A2DP solution, I really don't see this as an issue.

Although I can't find any info on the actual size of the battery in this thing, a quick search on Google seems to show up to 9hrs. That's seriously not bad!
