    Can you completely disable DRL's in Vagcom?

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I have a DRL that will periodically be on like normal then I will get an error that the bumb is out. I know the bulb is fine because it lights up.

    When did a service appt the tech said it was some sort of control module or something, I'm not sure but pricing was like $300 or something,

    Sometimes if I re-seat the bulb it goes away for longer, but obviously a pain in the ass

    I don't really need this to work, but need the stupid bulb out error to go away.

    Any ideas?

    to disable the DRL via vagcom, go into central electrics and select xenon with DRl disabled. this should sort your error out

    I thought you had to have the DRL switch in order to do that? I didnt see that option when I was doing euro lights via vagcom

    Can't you just turn the little DRL knob to the O (off) position? That is how I turn the daytime running lights off on my 07' A4 Avant.

    ^ no you can't

    OP:

    1 = Halogen Headlights with Daytime Running Lights (PR-8Q0/8Q1+8K1/8K3/9C6/9C7)

    3 = Bi-Xenon Headlights w/o Daytime Running Lights (PR-8Q3/8Q5+8K0/8K7)
    4 = Bi-Xenon Headlights with Daytime Running/Tail/License Plate Lights (PR-8Q3/8Q5+8K1/8K3)

    ^OPTION 3

    But cold diagnostics still applied to DRLs. You might still get the error.

    Any notes on what it actually means when it says "dimming". What exactly does that function do? And what is the low beam "response"?

    ok, figured out what dimming is - it actually changes the brightness of the selected light group. Must be different markets that this would be used for? I remember old cars where you just stuck in a light bulb and the brightness was determined how well your battery was charged and the function of the alternator and voltage regulator. my how things change....

    Its a great option for members that have tinted tail lights. They can up the brightness for better visibility.
