01826 - Sensor for Steering Angle (G85); Supply Voltage Terminal 30

I've just completed replacing my Low Pressure Fuel Pump and fuel filter, connected the battery, started the car, and the below code appeared. I don't recall tampering with any electrical wiring to have cause this issue. The fuel pump works fine. Any suggestion as to where/what to check for this problem? Thank You.

It should go away after driving a few miles. Weird things happen when disconnect and reconnect the battery, but after a few miles of driving everything goes back to normal.

I accidentally fried my steering angle thingy during a stereo install. Shit happens sometimes.

Thanks for the input. I had my battery disconnected while working the on the fuel pump, and I am an electronic technician so I'm sure I have not shorted any wires intentionally. Hope it'll go away. I'll update.

Thats a frequent error. If you clear it and it comes back just run through the Steering angle sensor adaptation. It takes about a minute.

According to this, it only signifies that the supply voltage was interrupted ie. when you disconnected the battery.

Thank you for the detailed information Charles. You're absolutely correct. After taking the car for a spin, the code cleared on it's own.

Re-activating this old thread but it's the first one to pop-up in Google when searching for the code and error message.
It turns out that I could only resolve the code by doing a Steering Angle Sensor calibration.

I described the procedure in this video:

The steps are also described on the Ross Wiki at http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...ch_8.0)#coding
