Painting the filler plate ... would the Audi color code spray can be low quality?

Has anyone used a spray can to paint with Audi colors.

Was looking at something like this: http://paintworldinc.com/separateite...09&istricoat=F

I think the gloss black filler plate looks great with black cars ... I would like to paint the filler plate the same color as my car (Meteor Grey).

    Thoughts and suggestions?

I think it would look good - only thing I would wonder is by the time you add that up and ship the paint, could you have it color matched and done professionally at a body shop/paint shop for the same price? Then you know it will be all but perfect.

Agreed. Adding primer, paint & clear coat plus shipping - likely around $70.
I've used spray paint from automotive touchup.com - Brilliant Black (LY9B) and Phantom Black (LZ9Y) were decent, Quartz Grey Metallic (LY7G) was much darker than OEM.
Meteor Grey (LZ7H) is Pearlescent - unlikely to get a perfect match from a spray can IMO.
Good body/paint shop should do your filler plate for $100 or less.
OP, what color is your grille - if black, plate filler to match ride color
    Cheers

Thanks for the response. Would like to have it done the professional way but probably would cost much more ...

I have the spray primer and clear so I would just need the Meteor Grey spray can. If Quartz was much darker for you Meteor might not match well. Even the Reiger Replica spoiler I just bought was hard to get a close to 100% match.

Might be worth trying for around $25?

I have the stock grill for the 2.0T (platinum grey ?) ... would like to get the glossy 3.2 grill if I ever find one in the classifieds.

Then get the Meteor Grey spray can, as you have the primer & clear coat - try it, can't hurt.

Grill - suggest remove and paint black (gloss, matte) - requires bumper removal, cheaper than buying new grill.
Black grill will look great on your Meteor Grey IMO.
