ABS Delete, is it easily done?

I am really contemplating removing the ABS system from my car when I upgrade to my big brake kit, for a number of reasons. Simplicity, more adjust ability (i can run a proportioning valve), better for competition and winter driving (if you know what you're doing).

is it as simple as taking the output lines from the master cylinder and send one to a tee for the front brakes, and one to a tee for the rear brakes? Can I keep the ABS module "plugged" in avoid the beeping and blinking of my abs light when I'm driving?

Ideally I would like to install dual master cylinders for f/r with balance bar for brake bias, but this requires removing the ABS.

If your car is ESP equipped, changing the engine coding to 06611 should disable ESP and ABS.

Anyone? Can I keep the ABS plugged in to avoid any codes/lights, but bypass it completely?

Ive done a few ABS deletes and brake line tucks in my honda-days.

Don't see why you couldn't run a new prop. valve or an adjustable one and leave the module plugged in (or maybe even loop it w/ resistors) to keep the ABS light at bay... hmnn

Why do you want to get rid of ABS?? We see consistently faster track times (dramatically) with ABS, besides it being safer in just about every situation.

You also do not need to remove ABS in order to run a proportioning valve. Once again, we run ABS on our race car along with a proportioning valve since we run a 300mm 4 piston rear brake which throws things off.

You can always recode the ABS to the RS4 coding, which will keep it from intervening until much later.

X2.....except for really heavy snow I see no reason why you would want to get rid of ABS. I am not a fan of most electronic Nanny's but I would want ABS.

    Cheers,

If you take the ABS away you also lose the EDL system. I have run with and without it and I can tell you it makes a huge difference. It helps keep the power down even if one wheel lifts or hits a lose spot on the ground. Wheel lift is all too easy on these too...

Max where is the proportioning valve located on the 034 car? between the master cylinder and abs unit on the rear line?

Also, I understand that the 034 car used to use an AP racing pedal assembly with independent f/r master cylinders and balance bar to adjust bias. Are you saying the 034 car uses a proportioning valve in addition to the balance bar?

Abs and traction control are banned from f1 due to the unfair advantage it gives. of the only 2 things I don't want to delete in my car, 1 is abs
