Tire Sizes for Staggered 19 Inch Wheels

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm looking to buy 19" wheels in staggered format for my 2003 A4 Avant and want to know what size people are running for 8.5 width and 9.5 width.

I have had 18" wheels up to now, but only in 8.5 width, and I use 225/40 R18 for the stretched look or 235/40 R18 for the even look.

    Any recommendations for these?

    Thanks!
    Dub

    Front 215/35R19 & Rear 245/30R19
    ...would be baller.

This is the closest thing you will get to both a "parallel" sidewall & same rolling diameter.

Thanks guys. I think 215 is a little too stretched. For 225, would you recommend 225/30 or 225/35?

its going to look the same as a 245 on a 9.5" wheel...

I hear ya cluckin, but that 215 left a little more rim exposed than I'm comfortable with. Maybe your PA roads are better than my CO roads, but I gots to have some more rubber there

Our roads here suck and i could never pull it off.

What do you plan on running in the back?
If you can find matching (if you care about that)... You could rock a 225/35 with a 255/30

been running 235/35/19 and 255/35/19 on 8.5 and 9.5 width for 2 summers. just a little stretch in the rear. enough rubber on the front to not leave lips exposed. extremely close rolling diameter.

Do any of you stretch guys have/had issues with the bead seal holding air? Right now, I'm on sportec 19's w/ ET 35 running a 225/40 tire and it didn't hold air at 35psi. It's holding it in at 50psi, my shop says that if I go to 235/35 on the next set of wheels I'll be rubbing... I find this a little hard to believe, but when I examine the wheel hub there is a good chance of rub if I don't raise the suspension....Shayam, I'm really curious to hear your take, b/c you have a lot of stretch...
