    Vinyl wrapping S5....tacky?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Im thinking about giving my Ibis white S5 (with Stasis suspension & rims) a vinyl wrap. I was thinking of going with a flat black but after seeing some pictures I don't think it'll look too great with my Stasis polished rims. I think a flat black would look better with black rims. So then I was thinking maybe going with a flat (matte) silver wrap...maybe with some carbon fiber accent (side mirrors, front and back diffuser, hood(?)).

My question is...would this be too "ricey" or tacky?

if you got time on your hand, go for it. but if i saw a S5 on the road, vinyl in black, i'd lean towards tacky. reserve flat black for lambos

If you're going matte, get white or black. I actually kinda like them on the B8 coupe, looks pretty good. It's a nice change without leaning towards "tackiness," IMO.

There's a white B8 A4 around my campus here in Waco, TX with a flat black vinyl wrap covering the hood. I also believe it covers the roof and goes down back onto the trunk.

I think it looks clean/nice. I think it would look even better on the coupe. However, he doesn't have chrome rims.........

Whoa, $8k for a wrap? Gold dust scattered over it or what, haha. Usually it's about $3-4k.

Everyone has their opinion on these things...mine is that flat black cars look like absolute sh*t. Reminds me on unpainted primer...

Over in the b5 s4 forum someone just did a matte white wrap. They have links to where they bought it from $600 or so in materials if I remember right.

Matte White would be nice...but I couldn't justify spending $3000 when my car is already white.

How about a matte blue or orange?

That Matte orange looks pretty nice...but maybe a lil ricey? I want to maintain a classy luxury look.
