Question 3M Black Chrome tint on a white S5, opinions?

I've got an Ibis White S5 with Pearl Silver interior and I want tints. First thought was simple black tints, but I don't feel like risking illegal tints, so 35% is dark as I can go. I could probably live with this, but I have the feeling that my white interior will make the tint seem not very dark. Does anyone have experience with 3M Black Chrome tint? How do you think it would look on a white S5? In my experience, reflective tint appears a lot darker during the day, since you see your reflection rather than through the tint. The 3M Black Chrome tint might be interesting and nice looking on a white car, but I could be wrong.

Oh no no no, def no mirror tint. Will look especially bad against your black window trim. Just being honest

I thought that might be the case. But then I thought, it is called "black chrome", maybe it looks interesting. I might take a look at a sample, but I'm leaning toward straight 35% black.

Maybe this will help. Surprised 3M still makes this stuff. "Ecrew16" has 35% on ibis with magma interior...check his out.

Black chrome tint? Is that the tint that is mirror on the bottom then fades to black? I never heard of that.

Nooo, definitely not that. I'm not really sure what 3M Black Chrome is. I guess it is a black film that is also somewhat reflective, but no gradient.

I can't find a good pic. Pics either look like regular black tint or like the sky (reflective). Can't find any videos of it either, which is what would really help I think.

It seems the options are 35% or 20%, and 20% is illegal here. I wish there was something in between that might not be so obviously illegal as 20%. But there isn't, so 35% it has to be. :/

I'm currently traveling abroad but I managed to arrange for my car to be picked up from where it is and taken to the detailing shop to get window tints and Xpel self healing, full frontal clear bra. This way when I get into town my car will be all ready and I can just go pick it up. But it also means I have to pick the tint beforehand, and I won't get a chance to see 3M Black Chrome in person before my car is done. So I guess I'll just go with the 35% 3M Color Stable tint.

How's the upkeep on that pearl interior? I almost went with that color when I got my car but was too afraid it might stain easily.

I did European Delivery and then I've been traveling, so I haven't gotten to drive my car except for the 2 weeks around the EU. I went back and forth on the interior. I didn't want black (boring) and didn't like magma, tuscan, or alcantara. I might have gone for the two tone black/white penguin alcantara, but they discontinued it for the 2012 coupe. The white (pearl silver) will require maintenance, but I love the luxurious look and feel of it and I think it is worth it to have something different.

I meant to bring an alternate belt, but I forgot. The lumbar area of the driver's seat has a mark from the belt. I remembered maybe half the time to take my belt off. It's a brown suede type belt. I rubbed and rubbed with soap and water, but it wouldn't come out. It's been on the leather 5 months, so I don't have high hopes of it coming out. :( I might need to get it professionally cleaned.

I bought a bunch of products (LLT and Gtechniq) to take care of the leather. My hope is that they will protect the leather as they say will, and I won't get more stains. Ask me again in a few weeks or months, I'll be back for my car next week! Also remind me to take off my goddamn belt...
