I will tell up front that cost will be huge , I have imported back in 2002, 2001 vw Bora (Jetta) Variant TDI 4 motion 6 speed, the transport Canada will not allow to import whole car, you have to have business registered that deals with some automotive aspect, I had to ask my friend to be a receiver since he had repair shop, as personal you can import parts , engine, transmission without body, I had to literally ask my seller in Germany to cut the car in half in order to prove that vehicle is not drivable, because at the Canadian Border they open container and they see whole car and can still drive they will ship back to where it came from , unless it is 15 years or older
you need to have prove of purchase from buyer , what the vehicle is, engine, parts etc, VIN, they also required a proof that the vehicle was not stolen , I don't think that part is required now,
you need to have contact with forwarding/shipping company based on size if you need container or skid they will arrange everything, if you buying from scarp yard usually they can arrange everything for you, and fax info to you, so you can inform customs ahead what is coming which container ship etc, once they receive they will clean the vehicle if it has any soil matter left on the car, once that happens you need to have forwarding company pickup the container, and deliver to your destination , before picking up you need to pay all taxes, plus the 6% import duties, once you pay everything at the customs office, you can pick up your shipment, you can have forwarding company pre-pay the all duties and taxes for you, but they charge fee, which is better to do it yourself, there are numerous forms to fill required by customs,
