    Replacement Door Lock/Unlock Buttons?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
On my 2011 Audi a4, the door lock/unlock buttons keep popping off. Is there anywhere to buy replacement plastic covers? Or does anyone have the part #s?

That is what the warranty is for. Take it to the dealer, get it done for free :)

Did you get the part number for the buttons? I am having the same issue. Looked at the oem diagrams, but it wasn't clear.

I thought mine would be the only with this issue. My driver door button pop out every once in a while? I haven't looked closely but does anyone know why this happens? What's broken?

Ive had this issue for a min. Driver and passenger side. The small clip that holds it in place is too fragile
With normal usage of unlocking/locking they tend to wear eventually breaking the small tab/clip.
I just used super glue and it works like a charm. No one can tell it was repaired

Took mine in two weeks ago for the same issue and they replaced it with no questions asked at all... You should definitely take it in.

I realize this is an old thread, but my drivers side door lock button has fell off, and I can't find it anywhere in the car. Ebay search found a seller who has the right/pass side button, but no left side.

Has anyone else had any luck finding one?

Thanks, but that's for the whole lock switch. Does anyone have a part number for or had any luck finding just the button/cover? Found just the button on eBay for the right side, but no left.

The switch is sold as a complete lock switch with cover, Audi does not sell just the cover since that is what breaks off, do it the right way and buy the whole thing. The ebay seller probably broke that cover off and is trying to sell it.

    Necro Bump....

My drivers door just popped, and similarly I want just the cover, not the whole lock because I don't want to remove the entire panel. I found the parts cheap on Ebay. What I'll try to do is order the whole lock, safely remove the cover, and then snap it onto my car.

I've had issues with rattling in my driver door, so that last thing I want to do is take it apart. I got the whole thing replaced under warranty since they couldn't fix the rattle and I don't want to revisit it.

Curious if anyone else did this successfully. ECS sells the parts for $100+, but I found them on Ebay for $10+. So I'll just keep buying them if they continue to break. I doubt I'll break 10 of them. Pretty sure it's the genuine OEM part and not a knockoff.

I'm fairly new to the Audi world and after recently purchasing my A4, I noticed the lock/unlock buttons had popped off the driver door. I found the replacement part on eBay for $16 shipped. I am not the handiest person, but did find a quick video on YouTube with pics on how to successfully install the replacement piece. You do, unfortunately, have to take off the the door panel, but it really is only a matter of popping off two of the plastic pieces on the door and then taking out 5 torx head bolts and your door panel pops off. Pull the connection cable out of the back of the bad/broken lock/unlock switch, pop the old switch out, replace with the new switch, reconnect, and put the panel and bolts back into place.
I struggled to find each bolt and which pieces to pop off initially, but the whole replacement still only took about 20 minutes.
If you get stuck, I can send pics of which door pieces come off to find the right bolts to take out.

Yeah I'm sure I've seen the same video. It's not that its difficult, I just don't want to do it because I think that piece you pry off to get to the bolts won't fit snug when you put it back together. That's how the car was when I bought it. The door pieces would vibrate on rough roads and with loud music. Had the whole panel replaced and now everything is fine.

How did you get the power button out? Did you have to remove the door panel or just pop it out with a tiny screw driver?

When you get new switch look we’re the pieces are that hold it in and carefully put pressure there on one installed and it should pop out
I bought cheap eBay switch, popped off the cover and carefully installed on the switch already in door panel
