    Forge 008 Diverter Valve Spring Settings?

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I just bought the 008's and I am trying to decide what spring I should install? I don't have a boost gauge yet so I don't know how much boost I am at but I have APR 2 stage, APR turbo-back exhaust, Evolution intake and Forge silicone boost kit currently installed in my car.

    Green spring = 5 - 15 PSI
    Yellow = 15 - 23 PSI
    Blue = 23 - PSI

    I don't want to put in a spring too strong and ruin my turbo's but I also don't want to install a spring too weak then I leak boost.

    NEED HELP ASAP!

    Thanks,
    Ricky Andretta

    I'd get a boost gauge. Otherwise, it seems like you'll want to stick with the green spring *I think*

    I guess I will leave the green springs in until I get a boost gauge.

    Does anyone have a similar setup but actually has a boost gauge?

    I have run both the Green and Yellow on my Unitronic Stage 2 chip with no differences.

    Edit: I have the 007 not that i think it matters much.

    You can run the shims with the green spring to make it a bit "firmer" in a sense. The shims are designed for the grey areas in between the springs. I ran both the green and yellow on my 1.8t back in the day and noticed no change at all. Ended up going with the green spring and two shims on 17 psi

    Green no shims.
    17PSI here.
    It makes no difference unless you install the valve "backwords"
    The stock way it's installed the boost pressure pushes against the side of the piston. And the vacuum suction pulls the piston up to release the boost when off throttle.

    Keep running the green one, as boost is coming on the side of the DV so there is no way boost can open it. Not to mention that if you use the stiffest spring it might not be able to open the DV when necessary.
    (Running this for over 1.5 years @ 23psi)
