What needs to be done to get the same power from the S6 V10 as in the S8 V10?
Would love to beef up my S6 to perform like the S8 motor.

I'll let someone with more knowledge chime in but I'm pretty sure there are some major and expensive differences between the two engines.

They're the same exact engine with the S6 version being slightly detuned. (435 vs 450)

Well what in tuning is different between the 2 engines ? just ecu tuning ? Or something more like cam profile or other internal mechanical difference ?

Yup, just ecu tuning. They have the same displacement, forged internals, bore and stroke.

I may be wrong but I thought the S6's intake was a bit more restrictive than the S8's due to the smaller engine bay. I may have been misinformed though.

Either way, it was reported that the S6 really benefits from some intake work to open things up. I've heard new filters and opening up the upper breather tracts shows some decent butt-dyno gains.

I do know ECU plays a role. From what I've heard on Audiworld, the APR tune for the S6 is worth the $$$.

Correct. Both engine's have huge intake, exhaust, and tuning restrictions as well as very bad heat soak. I mean, look at the power the v10 R8 is making; same engine. It's a shame there isn't more of a mod market to maximize the potential these cars have. Rumor has it JHM is looking to adapt their vortex supercharger kit to the v10 since it's basically a RS4 engine with 2 extra cylinders.

It would be very interesting to see what JHM can come up with. They do wonders for the 4.2 v8 in the S4 and RS4.

hate to revive the dead but has there been any development at JHM? Further development with custom intakes?
