    B-Pillar Interior Trim Removal

    Hi all!

    I think I've narrowed down a god-forsaken rattle to the driver side b-pillar. I want to get in there and see if I can isolate it! I've done a little searching around, but haven't found a really good article on how to remove the b-pillar. Some have some decent instructions, but no good pictures. I think I just need some good pictures so I know what I'm looking for when removing these clips.

    This guide seemed pretty good, but it's for the b6 platform and I didnt know if the pillars removed the same way:
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...r-removal-swap

    This one seemed detailed, but mentioned caution around the airbags and whatnot:
    http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=2016871

    Here is a B8 guide - again...not sure if the instructions are the exact same:

    Could someone please shed some light on this for me? Thanks for the help!!

    Sorry, no pictures! Remove the driver's o-crap handle and the bolt behind the airbag plug. Pull the headliner trim out a little so you can see behind it. Note: it might have a lip that tucks under the rear panel, but it will flex. The upper B panel has 1 bolt right above the middle hidden behind the headliner trim. Remove it and the panel will pop off with some force. Grab the B pillar from the top and pull, then slide it up. When you put it back on, align the seatbelt adjuster with the mechanism behind it and press the panel back into place. Slide the rubber door trim back out and put the bolts back. The bottom panel can be removed after taking the top panel off.

    I used the B6 DIY when i removed my headliner. Pretty much spot on with the B7 interior. The only thing is that that there is a bolt that holds in the top part of the B-pillar that you need to unbolt. Forgot what size it was.

    I swapped my headliner a while back and found this pic that might help you a little with acutally getting it off;

    At the red circle there's a bolt and the clips are circled in blue.. Mine came off easy just removing the bolt and grabbing the bottom at the clips and pulling.
    I have the A-pillar lying in the garage aswell if you'd like a pic of it aswell from behind to better understand, but its just like on a B6/as daudic describes it.

    No need to worry about the airbag curtain, you wont be anywhere near the connector to it (which is at the back).

    Thanks guys - I'll give this a shot this weekend and report back!

    Edit: so I decided to try this already tonight. I was able to get the top portion of the B-pillar off without a problem, but I am getting stuck on removing the bottom portion. I have the front seat portion of the trim unclipped, but I cant for the life of me get the back seat portion unclipped! Does the back seat section unpop the same way as the front seat section?

    Thanks guys!

    Ok - well thats good. I found some other post last night saying that you have to remove the rear seat cushions in order to get to that piece of trim.
