    14x1.5mm lug bolts vs 12x1.5 stud conversion...help?!

So basically I wanted to know the engineering design purpose for performance. I gotta b5 s4 which has 5x112 bolt pattern. I want to get a wheel that is 5x114. The option is stud conversion or wobble bolts.
    1. If I go with a stud conversion, it'll fit! BUT....will it be strong enough if I wanted to track my car?

    2. (related to stud conversion) is it the soul purpose of the the lugnut to "just" hold the wheel in place since the wheel is hub centric?! Or is our cars too heavy and it requires a 14mm lugbolt?

    3. Has anyone had problems running wobble bolts? Most 5x114 wheel lug holes are drilled to fit 12mm stud. If I use a wobble bolt, I might have to redrill the holes. And also will it seat properly and torque properly?

I wouldn't have this problem if they made wheels I like in 5x112. Thanks for the input in advance!

The purpose of the hub centric part of the wheel is to center it on the disc, the lug bolts prevent the wheel from coming off the hub (thus taking the load).

Actually..the hubs are designed to carry the load of the vehicle. The lugs are meant to hold the load horizontally. Its a key feature to have a hub centric wheel. Now the odds of any damage happening or studs breaking because the wheel is not hub centric, is very slim, but the manufactures do design the hub to carry the load of car more so than the studs. With that being said you would be ok with wobble bolts and most 5 lug wheels ive seen that have any type of quality to then will be drilled for 14mm

Thanks! Understand that part. So then using a 12mm stud and lugnut conversion will not be strong enough to hold the wheel in place since our cars are heavy?!

Since the hub holds the weight of the car, you'll be fine. You can go with a 12mm stud conversion as long as the wheels you want use 12x1.5mm lugs.
