    Meyle/Corteco/FEQ/MTC engine mounts..Any good?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi,

I need to change driver side engine mount in my car (98 Audi A4 1.8t, FWD, AEB, 5-Spd manual). I saw Meyle, FEQ, Corteco, MTC and genuine Audi mounts in couple of websites.

How good is this Meyle/ Corteco/ FEQ/ MTC compared to the genuine Audi mount?

Or which one is a good hydraulic mount among these aftermarket mounts?

PS: I didn't find a Febi or Lemforder mount for this model car/ engine anywhere.

Febi is listed for the B5 V6 A4/S4/Passat on ECS:
    http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B5_A4-...Mounts/ES2713/

The V6 mount will be a slight upgrade in firmness over the 1.8T mount.

    ^^

Will this extra firmness create engine vibration in the cabin for a daily driver?

Extra firmness will [almost] necessarily transfer more vibration into the cabin. That said, the difference of the V6 mounts compared to 1.8T is minimal. The difference is not even as aggressive as going to RS4 mounts, which is the mildest of upgrades. The aftermarket performance stuff (stern, 034, etc) is certainly going to be more aggressive than the RS4 mounts, but most people find the "Street" variety of those quite tolerable for a dd anyway.

I would think the difference between OEM 1.8T and V6 mounts is likely less than the difference you will find between an OEM 1.8T mount and it's aftermarket replacement.

Of those brands, Corteco is an actual OE supplier to Audi/VW, so should have the best quality.
They're also still making them in Germany.

Different suppliers for different parts, you'd be surprised how many different companies come together to make a car. There's no one OEM supplier, there's a whole list.

Personally I would go for aftermarket, they'll feel the same as OEM and will last longer than the rest of the car most likely.
