Adjust windshield washer nozzle?

My passenger nozzle isn't spraying high enough, so it hits the wiper arm head on and won't hit the windshield. I looked at the nozzle, and it just snaps into the hood, and doesn't look like it can be adjusted? Maybe there is a slight clog in the line somewhere? What can I do?

there is a special audi tool to do it but its not necessary
i use a pin, stick it in the nozzle and adjust that way
i believe this is common practice
there is a spec they are supposed to be adjusted to but just keep in mind the stream hits your windshield lower at higher speeds

So you are saying just stick like a safety pin in the hole and aim it up that way?

Mine is the exact opposite. Driver's side pretty much clears the windshield, over the roof, and onto the back window. I need to get the pin in there and adjust.

That's pretty much it. The special tool just looks like a pen with a needle sticking out of it. Here's a pic of where the spray should hit the window http://www.audizine.com/gallery/show...=64273&cat=500

That is weird my driver side hits the wiper at a lower point and only sprays up 1/4 way will have to make this adjustment !

Mine too! Rofl. Im pretty sure I've "made it rain" on the hwy a few times..

My buddy had a really old (like 80s vintage) suburban in HS and he wrenched the passenger windshield sprayer so it sprayed out horizontally at the car next to him. It was awesome.

Man we were pricks back then...

I thought about doing that hundreds of times!! haha. Nothing like shutting up some ricer reving at a light!

Install a secondary pump & reservoir with a separate button, kinda like a methanol kit. Fill it with something non-toxic or staining and have some fun....

I bet you could tweak one of the headlight washers. Not sure if the spray can travel enough distance though...

A friend of mine used to have a jet behind his VW emblem. He would always get people by askin them to lift his hood up when we were at shows. Pretty funny as long as you weren't the one walking around looking like you pissed yourself

Maybe this is too anal but anyone know what the a, b, c, d measurements are supposed to be?

The adjustment dimensions indicate the values for a moving vehicle, i.e. the spray from the nozzles is slightly offset when the vehicle is stationary.
– Use water-soluble pen to mark the four points on windshield:
l Dimension -a- = 250 ... 275 mm
l Dimension -b- = 465 ... 490 mm
l Dimension -c- = 270 … 415 mm
l Dimension -d- = 140 ... 225 mm
– Align individual washer nozzles with these points using adjusting tool.

You can also retrofit the Passat sprayer nozzles, which have a much better spray pattern to them. More of a mist that covers the windshield, instead of the jet of water. There is a thread about it on here somewhere.

I'm a Tech (Mostly VW, but I spent 4 years in a dealer that also had audi and Porsche) I work at a VW dealer right now but we get plently of Audi work because we're $40 an hour cheaper on labor than the local Audi Dealer. Since I have ELSA access I get tons of info
