Side mirror fitment question

Does any know if a mirror from a 2009 will fit on a 2011?
I'm thinking the mounting points behind the tweeter are the say but want to make sure.
I'm looking at getting a steal on a set of 09 alu s4 mirrors (complete set not just the housing) with folding but not 100% if they will mount.

No, they are different shape and mount differently, AFAIK.

oh i'm so mad at myself... i gathered that by noticing the different part #'s on the ECS site... My driver side mirror was broken by the cover of a trunk in front of my on the highway the other day.. I ordered a complete set of S4 folding mirrors, with anti-dazzle & the blind spot glass on ebay from a guy in Poland & for some f*ing stupid reason... i didn't ask the year...I'm so mad at myself right now... d@mmit... I just emailed him & asked the year they were removed from.. I really hope he says 2010+ for my sake...

So, sorry to say, if these mirrors are from a 2009 B8 S4, they probably won't fit your 2012 B8 A4.

Unfortunately, the ebay lister misrepresented his item. Hey told me these come off a 2007 A4... His auction description was very limited at best but he listed the following:

If these came off a 2007... that's not a B8 8K... at least not according to this wiki articl... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_S4

I send the guy an emial, he said he already shipped them from Poland. I explained the mixup & that his auction desription was inaccurate. I asked him to recall the shipment & refund my money... Hopefully he will do the right thing, i don't know if i'm going to get that lucky. At $940, i will fight this with ebay, paypal or even my CC company b/c his listing doesn't match what he is really selling... The photos look like a B8 but i can't tell...

Umm far for me to argue but the B8 A4 has the same door part number from inception until late 2011 according to Etka. It also as the same inside trim part number. So I'm not going to say they will fit but...

This is what I was thinking..
Audi would of had to change the mirror mounting design from 2009 to 2011 for them not to mount but anything is possible of course.
For 50 euro I'll give a shot.
Will report back when I know for sure, maybe a few days.

If you have 09 mirrors you can add the A6 under mirror CH/LH light. Very cool upgrade.

Here is the link & also 2 photos he sent me.. i was trying to get a look to see if the mirrors had Anti-dazzle & the blind spot sections from the UK. In his email today he told me these were from a 2007 A4.

It's all good man.
Those look to be from the b8 for sure. So I think your in the same boat as I am. As long as the 09 stlye mirrors mount on the 2011 you should be good as should I.
I searched for days on a definate answer on mounting but found nothing defiante so I will see in a few days when my mirrors arrive.

I added them awhile ago but I had to cut the trim myself to make the lights fit. I'm trying to downgrade the year to get the lights in properly and getting folding mirrors and alu mirror caps. All in one shot total package deal wait for it amazing 175 dollars. Still need the trim bits for folding mirrors but these are not expensive.
The mirror lights are a very nice uprgade light David said.

Well... the seller from the ebay auction informed me they came off a 2009 S4... Funny how he changed his story within a few hours when I requested a refund... So Autobahnaudi, please update the thread with your test results of trying to mount the 2009 mirrors to your 2011 A4.

It just has me really worried b/c there are different folding kit package #'s on ECS tuning for 2009 & 2010+... I really hopeful since it's the entire mirror (base, caps etc..) it will be a direct bolt on... I'm also hopeful the wiring is the same & plugs into my existing harnesses with no issues (guess i could swap out the wiring b/c i have my existing mirrors)... Hoping they didn't change pin positions or something crazy like that... since they are coming from poland, i will have to wait about a month to see if they are even going to work... with my driver side mirror being broken.. that is a long time & a lot of money to wait to only find out they won't work...

Worth noting - as Audi introduced the B8/8K in '08 in Europe and not until '09 in NA, perhaps Poland seller's '09 S4 mirrors would fit your '11 ride.
Ask him if he'll provide pics of the mirrors.

My mirror from my 09 b8 to my '10 b8 are DIFFERENT. 09 had 14 LEDs each, new ones have 3( way to cheap it out Audi) on a side note, anybody know the part number for the right mirror lens, the one covering the lights?

They finally arrived.. i ordered the other parts from ECS.. i'm hooking everything up tonight following David's DIY (btw, great DIY)

here is my question.... The wiring on the mirror switch for the 2009 is slightly different... now i'm hoping the pins are different b/c of the extra feature (folding).. But just wanted to be sure... Here is the pin out of the 2012 & 2009 mirror on the 16 pin switch (I removed the switch from the housing so i could see the numbers & pins on both:

You think the difference in the pin out is b/c one is folding & the other is not.. or you think it's b/c one is a 2009 & the other is not? I haven't connected anything up yet.. to be honest i'm nervous b/c i don't want to do any electrical damage (sorry for being so paranoid). I'm going to proceed with the passenger door now, getting everything ready to be connected... will check back the thread periodically... just have my door panels off so hoping to get response within the next hour or so if possible so i can wrap this project up tonight...

Btw.. the S4 mirrors looks pretty sweet on my color combo...
