    in my 01 s4 there is a sensor that layes inside the intake manifold, just behind the throttle body. It looks burnt and I believe this could be the cause of my issue. my issue is that when my car in cold it rns amazing but as it heats up and a sensor pops up on the dash it starts to jerk real bad when you apply the gas. sometimes it will even lose throttle reponse all together. can anyone help me ?

    on the top near throttle body is manifold absolute pressure sensor(map), on the bottom side its your intake air temp sensor (iat)

    so it would be the map. the sensor im talking about is right inside the intake. if you remove the throttle body and look inside the intake you can see it. it sticks stright up and you can acess it from the bottom. it looks like a v with a stip running up the middle of it

    Thats the IAT sensor - it tells your ECM how hot the charge of air entering the manifold is
    MAP tells your ECM how much boost pressure is hitting the manifold

    You can log your intake air temps with vagcom. block 011 I believe will show you what the sensor is reading.
    Did you run a throttle body adaption after you replaced the tb? Also use a liberal amount of maf sensor cleaner on your maf just to be sure.

    Like Thirdstrike said, that is the IAT sensor (Intake Air Temperature).

    If you have VAGCOM, you can log it and check to see, or run for codes, but if it is malfunctioning, it certainly can cause problems.

    Let me know if you need a replacement;
