Warranty Extension: Intake Manifold Runner Control Motor, Fuel Pressure Sensor & PCV

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I got a letter today (Audi Canada) that stated:

"Warranty Extension for Intake Manifold Runner Control Motor, Fuel Pressure Sensor (G410), and Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve"

For "Certain 2.0L TFSI Engine Vehicles"

    For "10 years or 192,000kms"

What it covers: "This warranty extension covers the initial diagnosis scan of your vehicle. This warrenty extension will also cover the replacement of the Intake Manifold Runner Control Motor, Fuel Pressure Sensor (G410), and POsitive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve should the diagnosis indicate that these repairs are needed"

We all know these motors have PCV issues, I wonder if they would cover any sludge cleaning (doubt it). Also curious as to if they would use the "pcv fix" system or not.

Anyone else get this, I know there was another post about it, but it seemed slightly different maybe for US vehicles?

Im going to call my local dealer tomorrow to get some details, to see if I have to wait till my MIL comes on or if I can go in and get it replaced anyways.

Now will all this warranty replacement requires the CEL to come on before they can do anything work because my car (at 26,700 miles) has been running like crap and very sluggish when I open throttle. I had a cel a couple of months ago (P0089) but replaced the G410 thrust sensor and hasn't seen it since. I'm also losing a shit load of gas mileage as we speak, suspecting the pcv at play.

    G410 = Thrust Sensor?

Can nnyone confirm the exact part number of the G410 sensor? Pretty sure I had a 'Thrust Sensor' replaced for a fuel-pressure MIL at the stealership. Is that the G410?

Complain of a "high pitched noise" coming from the engine at times. Or an oil leak at the oil cap. Those are two complaints listed in the bulletin to look for other than MIL

Well, whadda ya know...on my way home early this morning the rpm started to rev a bit erratically, then all of a sudden...'bling' the dreaded yellow check-engine-light popped up. I parked the car and the engine started revving to about 1300, then down, up, down....like a ghost was on my seat playing with my accelerator, then followed by this kettle-like whistling noise; sort of sounded like when you're boiling water and the pot is calling. This madness went off and on for a bit during my trip home. I took out my little reliable Autel MAXISCAN MS300 and the fault code was P0507. PCV area looked clean though, guess I'm not the type that goes WOT.
The car's been running pretty rough lately and I'm losing boost and gas mileage BIG TIME! Boy, did that letter came just in time or what? Thank you Santa Claus.

Got my letter a few days ago. Made an appt with the Audi dealership. So I drive up there and drop my car off with no CEL on.

Now the tech comes back an hour later and says we will fix the intake motor. So I told him i had to go and pick up my son and would bring the car in for repair tomorrow. well I get in the car and the Check engine light is on! Drive home was fine and parked for a while at home and the CEL went off.

Now just came back from a short ride with a friend and the car was studdering bad when I tried to excelerate. Very strange!! So I get back to my street and the CEL comes on, blinks a few times, and then went off???!!!

Is this the intake motor or what, the car has been driving great until I took it to the dealer...

Hi, curious as to how things worked out for u...I received an illuminated MIL last week (Mon) after filling tank, I reset the gas cap and a day later (Tues) it disappeared...Unfortunately it came back on Thursday and has been illuminated since (6 days), took car into Autozone and got the following codes... P0171 and P0507, can you/anyone else advise if these are related codes to the "warranty extension: Intake mani... letter" Thanks!

I had the P0507 code as stated and it was caused by a faulty PCV/Breather Tube and Audi replaced it under the 10/120K warranty. As for the P0171, usually it is MAF related and you might wanna unscrew it and get it cleaned; very easy job. By the way, what year and mileage on your car?

Thanks for the update, this is for an A4, '06 w/56k. I've arranged an apptmt w/local dealer (New Country Audi of Greenwich), for the warranty work... Hoping I won't get screw by dealer, do u think the MAF request is something I can request them to do? Tnx again

When you go in, mention about the warranty and let them deal with the PCV first. Since it's warranty-related, they'll probably look into the P0171 code which can also be a 'possibility' for the Intake Manifold. Either case, they'll usually let you know before proceeding if it's not covered under the warranty extension.

I got my reimbursement check for my intake flap motor today! I mailed it December 17th. It took two months. I did the work myself and sent copies of all the papers to AOA.

I received my cam follower letter, but never a PCV letter. I spent $380 or so to replace that at the dealer. I would love some reimbursement! Anyone have a copy of the letter?

It's either all or nothing, not some. I remembered someone posted a copy of it and buried inside this enormous B7 forum somewhere.

New to the forum... recently purchased a 2008 B7 A4 (60K miles). Had to have my car towed to the dealership the other day since it wouldn't start and had the yellow CEL. Started perfectly fine fine three of four times earlier in the day and ever since I bought the car. It was really out of the blue... the engine/starter turned over fine but wouldn't catch and stay running. Took the dealership two days to look at it and they called and said the only code they saw was for an incorrect key and wanted me to buy a new one at $300 (I said no and am taking my chances... so far all is good). While the car was in the dealer they perfomed this recall/update of the low fuel pressure sender and the IMRC motor. It's running great... but I was told this had nothing to do with my car not starting or the CEL. (?). Sorry for the long story!

Sorry to bring up an old thread but didn't think it was necessary to start a new one.

I have a 2005.5 A4 and received MIL p0089 and p2014. I took it to the dealer since many threads on the forum suggested I may have a warranty extension on those codes. It turned out to be the intake flap motor. The manager at first told me it was covered under an extension, then calls me back two days later and says it wasn't covered under my VIN. Anyone else have an issue getting a warranty extension on this part?

Very early cars (I have one as well) are not included the extension, they have a different part # flap motor than the included cars. I would call AoA though and try to have it covered anyway

I started an online chat with AOA. I was too tired today to be put on hold and get into an argument. The service man said with my VIN there were no warranty extensions. I argued if an extension was given to other models/years for a common faulty part, why wouldn't I get an extension if I have a faulty part too. He said he'd call the dealer, record the issue with AOA and get back to me with AOAs result. I doubt anything will come out of it.

Just wondering If AoA ever got back to you?

I have the same issue, they are gonna cover the PCV valve and fuel pressure sensor but not the flap motor. I'm gonna take the letter were Audi states the will cover almost every other b7 except mine (2005.5 A4) and argue the point.

Took the car in yesterday for a 7000 mile Oil Change (w/ a discount coupon) and another item unrelated to this campaign but covered under the Fidelity Extended warranty. I mentioned some oil residue around the filler cap area and Service Advisor ran the system and this is what they did:
    1. Replaced 'Thrust Sensor'
    2. Replaced 'Intake Manifold Runner' (IMRC)
    3. Updated codes 24T3 and 24T4
    4. Check Valve Gasket (good)
They did all these w/o a Check Engine Light. The PCV & Turbo Tube (or Inlet Valve) was also replaced about 7000 miles ago under the same warranty so that ruled out the 'oil residue' culprit. The only thing I paid was for Oil Change.
After this, the RPM doesn't dip down below 500RPM like how it used to when coming to a full stop and car responded better on the accelerator pedal -- but this could be my imagination due to the oil change. I'm hoping for two things: better gas mileage, and to put an end to the oil residue.
