Hey i am a newbie and recently bought my baby 2000 Audi A4 B5 1.8 Turbo - 5 Speed, i am just wondering if the exhaust of a VW Passat with 1.8t fit into 2000 Audi A4 B5 1.8T exhaust??
Since they have the same engine i was just wondering, i searched through the forum but found nothing related to this? With the same engine shouldn't it be interchangeable?

Your great wisdom and input would be greatly appreciated!!

im not exactly sure, but my guess would be that no they dont match up due to the audi being all wheel drive and having all sorts of components to avoid all the way too the back.. like i said though. just a guess

i try and avoid vw at all costs

If the Passat is FWD and your A4 is Quattro, no.

The Passat is a B5, yes. But (for FWD) the rear suspension is different than the A4 FWD. And even if you had a "4-motion" Passat, the wheelbase is something like 5-6 inches longer than the A4. So even best case, it wouldn't be a match. Good Luck.

I dont think they are the same, if they were then the aftermarket exhausts for the A4 1.8t would also be listed for the Passat which it is not.

Downpipe is the same (if both are manual); rest of the exhaust is different. FWD or AWD doesn't matter either.

4Motion Passat V6 is very similar to A6 exhaust, but still not the same.

Basically everything on a B5 Passt in front of the dash is the exact same as a B5 A4, FWD or Quattro. Control arms, intercooler, motor, etc etc etc.
