So yesterday driving around i kept getting a ESP error warning with the ESP light warning icon on the instrument cluster.. It also said to check owners manual. But sure enough today everything is fine..no warning no lights no error..
Another bug in the system maybe?

did you disconnect the battery for any reason? I know when I've had to disconnect the battery I get the same thing. Usually lasts for the rest of the day or so. But sure enough the next day everything is fine. Just from my experience

I had this issue once in my 2009 A4. The ESP light would come on sporadically and disappeared after a restart so it made it hard for me to show it to the dealer. But eventually I guess the fault became permanent and the light stayed on permanently and I was able show them the problem.

Brought it in and they finally found the problem. It was due to an ABS sensor malfunction.

Mine would go on occasionally couple months after purchase. Dealer couldn't find a fault. Went away after a while, never came back.
Go figure, figured it must have been the sensor becoming acclimated.

Thanks guys!! It was raining pretty hard in the north east the last few days so maybe that played with the ABS that triggered the ESP failure..who knows still having a blast driving this thing!

Did any of you experience violent hesitation/stuttering when the ESP malfunction came on?

I'm getting this horrible hesitation in all gears at any rpm above 2k, when I slightly press the gas pedal. Otherwise, car drives normal, but as soon as you give it a little gas, you're in for the ride of your life.

ESP comes on, then disappears. Today, it came on and stayed solid. Turned the car off, then back on again and it disappeared. But sure enough, drive a couple of hundred meters and its back on again.

    Anybody have any input?

I have the same thing, I logged and it showed i was misfiring on cylinder 1 and 3. Took it to the dealer and they said the spark plugs and Coils needed to be replaced for 450. I of course said no bc I could do it myself for 140 thriugh ECS. After replacing I now have the issue when u run it hard and ut tyoucakky happens at 65-70 mph. Then logged and im stukk misfiring in clinder 3. So frustrating bc my car us stukk under warranty. Before this 2 weeks prior they replaced my turbo at 33000 miles. I haven;t even had the car a year and have brought ut un 5 times saying I am having loss of power issues. any input? Also before the turbo my car just died and when the tiw trucj came u trued to start it and it dumped out at least 10 gallons of gas in my garage.

Hello, I've messed up with a heavy rain yesterday and in a 1 meter flood....
So in a small distance my 2.0T engine stops, the computer says ''ESP Sensor malfunction'' os something like that. I tried turn on the engine a couple of times but no ignition at all.
Can anyone tell me what should i do?

    Thanks in advance
