Today I switched from Mobil 1 euro formula to Rotella T6. We'll see how she goes but I'm assuming no issues as I have read some good stuff regarding this oil.

I've been running T6 in my last two oil change and I'm using it right now. No complaints here .

Took the Avant an hour and a half down the coast of Maine, with my wife, to a restaurant in Camden called Long Grain that everyone has been talking about. Route One was moving along pretty well at 60 mph but I turned off and took a more-or-less parallel backroad that had no traffic. Lots of curves. The car handles great. But I think I might need new motor mounts after 94,000 miles. The play in the drivetrain was telegraphing through the shifter and the clutch. The restaurant was better than I expected.

Removed the tint from the rear window, it was all bubbly since PO had it. Have to set up an appointment to get it tinted again. Also installed the front lower valence that I ripped off in the winter. Then washed it.

I adjusted my shifter today. What a devilishly tricky job that is! I did it without an inclinometer, judging 3º to the right and 7º back, by trial and error. Much easier shifting from 1st to second gear now. I think I'm going to leave the little compression clamp off so that the job will be easier next time.

Pulled my sagging headliner and started to prep for a new wrap. I'm debating what pattern/ fabric I want to use... I want something different but mature.. My first thought was a plaid to mimic the seats in the mk1 gti(all time favorite car).

Also, if you're ever feeling dumb, just remember that I ordered my new brakes sans rear pads. "Oh yea, 4 pads 4 rotors yea that sounds good." Doy. What's worse is that it's not even my first brake job.

It took me a while to get the old orange glue off. I used a wire wheel and rotary. Maybe I should've used a quality nylon, idk, because the steel wire kept flinging off.
Are you going to wear a respirator when laying down the glue?

FWIW, brakes are normally ordered in "front axle" (both left and right), or rear.

I used a shop vac and it went pretty quickly. There's just the remaining waxy glue left that I'll figure something out for. and hell no!!(yes) that's the only thing I can get high on these days!(totally kidding.)

The reason I fucked up is because I pieces together a kit to save money, which I did, but I ended up paying an extra 10 bucks in shipping than I could've. Rats!

I bought some parts for it that I'll hopefully install on Friday. New fuel pump, filter, pressure regulator, refurbished/flow-matched injectors, and PCV refresh components.

Cleaned out the dust in instrument cluster. All nice and shiny now.

After reinstall, cluster went nuts. Instead of mileage, word "safe" come on, fuel and temperature indicator did not work at all, coil light kept on blinking and engine stalled after a few seconds.
But it was just a case of one connector not being plugged in properly.

What did you do to your B6 today?

Changed out my oil cooler, gaskets and oil filter adapter gasket and installed ECS snub mount. Was not a fun day, little more time than expected but all done. Control arms, Bilstein sport shocks, tie rods and Febi S4 mounts left to do.

Everything I ordered showed up the other day, minus the fuel line that I may or may not need. Refurbished injectors look like they tested out pretty well:

Plan on installing everything tomorrow after I get my car inspected, then take it out for a little test drive to make sure it all works well.

I was going to replace the fuel pump, and several other things, but had to get gas this morning before getting my car inspected. Not thinking, I filled it up, so now I'll have to wait a week to change it out.

What did you do to your B6 today?

I did upper control arms and inner/outer S4 solid tie rods.... By myself. Took all damn day. Few things to share. First, the tie rod kit at Autozone and harbor freight do not fit inners, but a 15" adjustable wrench works great! ( and cheaper). Pinch bolt? Came out like butter.... Tie rods? Seized together as if welded by Zeus himself :/ and lastly whoever made that stupid lock washer on the upper strut mount... I hate you.
