What is the most you can push this little motor to?
I have talked to vast and they have a 400 whp kit that I guess mike has on his black a4 avant
That sounds like a lot for a stock 2.0 Maby I'm rong

I know the more you spend the faster you go ( I had a gt28 stage 3 b5 s4 avant) what I wondering is how much can you push the 2.0 with stock pistons rods and crank And still be able to drive it day to day

300AWHP is not out of the question for just a couple thousand dollars (K04, stage 3 chip, exhaust). If you want to get to the 400AWHP range, then you get into rebuilding the engine and a bit of custom work.

i think these people are underselling the 2.0t engine, i wouldn;t be surprised if you were able to hit 450 awhp on stock internals.....the main issues are the following

    1) high torque early in the rev-range leads to snapped rods

    2) fueling....oh lawdy do you folks have fueling issues

the problem with high horsepower is more an issue with #2 than #1, typically, the higher hp numbers you want, the longer it takes the turbo to spool up, which vastly eliminates the high torque early-on issue that i mentioned

however, getting enough fuel to this car is where you are going to run into some costly roadblocks.....400whp seems to be the limit in terms of simple (and i am using that term uber-loosely) off-the-shelf kits

but again, you throw enough doll-hairs at this problem and it will likely go ahead and solve itself. the problem is, at the end of the day, do you want to spend lots of monies and have a 2.0 4 cylinder engine, or do you want to spend the same amount of monies on a better engine

now, before my ass gets flamed harder than scroobs who dont search lets dive into this issue

OP seems/wants to get a lot of powers from his car, the obvious answer to this problem is to throw a BT and supporting mods and be done with it, but OP wants/seems to have very very large numbers of powers in his mind....something like....oh say.....over 400whp....

he can totally drop in an off the self vast kit and be on his way....i think for around 8,000$ after labor and tuning......now for 8,000$$ do you think that an engine swap could be done? (provided its a not a new engine) i would say no.....but i would say its pretty close to that

I was staying away from this thread...
But I will add, mike has had his B7 at 375/400whp for quite some time.
I've only heard of the Ko4 kits snapping rods in our 2.0Tfsi
Fueling is a nasty issue, of course with fwd you will ^see higher whp numbers, that's why I think most of us BT guys are seeing lower numbers than the GTI guys seeing as most of us are AWD.
I will say that with careful spending you could get to where I'm at with 8k$ or less, I honestly wish I could respect the 13k$ I've spent so far....
I'm also still stock rods, and have yet to upgrade my timing belt :-(

i guess in my ramblings i was not as clear as i was trying to be, i was trying to stress that our engines stock, can handle an incredible amount of boost/numbers, but it seems as if lots of a torque early on, is what snaps rods in our engines, so the more power you go after, the less torque early on you will see bc the items needed to make more power, also shift the torque curve in the engines favor

I would imagine that after a certain power number we'd be looking at enough boost to bend a rod at least, I doubt 400whp is that number... Mike is a wizard and deserves some credit for creating that benchmark :-)
