    OEM Avant roof rack on sedan?

    I'm looking into getting an OEM roof rack for my 2010 A4 Sedan. It is my understand that this http://www.ecstuning.com/ES1928319/ is the OEM roof rack for the sedan, while http://www.ecstuning.com/ES453338/ is for the avant. From the pics, I think the avant one looks better because the sedan boots seem to be really tall. Has anyone tried putting an avant roof rack onto sedan? Will it fit properly? If so, does anyone have some images they can share (sedan roof rack vs avant roof rack)?

    The Avant rack is designed to attach to the roof rails which the sedan does not have, so it will not work. The reason the sedan
    Rack is taller is because they are attach directly to the roof in stead of the rails and need to allow the sunroof to open if the car
    has one

    Exactly right! Sedan rack is only for the sedan. Avant rack is only for the Avant.

    Sorry to dig this up, but did you find another solution? I'm looking to add a roof rack but only for about 20% of the time, and I wouldn't mind having small permanent rails like the Avants do. The only aftermarket racks that I have seen have clamps that clamp-on to the side along the door trim. I'm looking for a cleaner look.

    I ended up getting the OEM racks, they also clamp on just like aftermarket ones. I actually really like the look, you can see mine here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...-OEM-Roof-Rack
