I think it's a good refresh, check out live pics of the Avant here,

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...rum-Ingolstadt

I'm pretty happy with mine and not due for a new car until the B9 platform comes around, just not happy that the Avant will be gone. I've only owned two cars without a hatch, a '66 Beetle and a 2004 Beetle Convertible. Not sure if the Allroad is as hot as a standard Avant IMO, guess I should wait to see it
    live.

So the Audi's front LEDs move to solid-looking LED pipes while the VW CC picks up LEDs more toward those of the B8. Damn VW-Group...

I think it looks kinda cheap, like the KIA version of LEDs.

So are we going to get the de-tuned 3.0T in an A4 here in the next few years? I love the 2.0T, but having been loaned an A6 for one of my services with that 3.0T, won't be satisfied with the little 4 cylinder anymore when I go to replace my '08. :(

I know this is the S5 but it gives you a good idea of what to expect and shows the evolution of the B8s styling.

    Looks amazing imo.

Yeah, it does look good....although I'm still not sure about the fog light detail. It looks like the quarter panels are the same since the light changes are only well into the front fender. It wouldn't surprise me if the front fenders could be swapped with very little or no fab work.

    Hood, grilles/fogs (obviously), rear valence... I'm sure there's more. I can't wait!

Having a close look at the pictures I'm not convinced that the hood is any different.

The fogs are lousy IMHO...I like the round much better. The rectangle looks way too Passat. Otherwise digging the new grill (in black only) and the headlights for sure.

As an unbiased non-A4 or S4 owner, the differences are incredibly subtle. I would a give a slight nod to the pre-13 model because I don't like the extra bumper cover that is left from the thinner headlights as much, but really it's not a huge difference.

I have been "shopping" for an S4 since they came out, but have been very hesitant to spend the money when I know something better is always around the corner. Reliability has also been a concern since I keep my cars forever. I bought a C6 when they first came out in '05, and then the next year came the Z06, and then the LS3 and TR6060, then the ZR1. I dreaded buying an S4 only to hear a few days later that the next year's model will have an aluminum frame and weigh 500lbs less, or they finally bring the RS4 back with a TT V8.

When I heard about the 2013 refresh I decided to wait and see what was going to change. What's another year or two? I also really want my next car to at least be able to stream audio from a phone, and would prefer that it actually play pandora and other internet radio stations natively, with titles and album art, etc.

After reading these articles it doesn't seem like it was worth the wait. The new MMI is going to cost a monthly fee and other than google earth provided maps, doesn't offer much for the cost. It sounds like A2DP is finally supported, but a little bit of soldering on the AMI can get it to work with a standard BT audio receiver on the current model. I like the new grill and over time subtle changes will make the old model look a bit dated, but I wouldn't feel bad had I bought a '10-'12 already.

So maybe I'll stop in at the Audi dealer this week and see if the rumors is true about deals. I had always planned to do the ED, so maybe sluggish '12 sales won't help me anyway since I doubt they'll negotiate on an ED order.

must be a misprint but inside line wrote "The most powerful engine, a 3.0 TFSI V6, is reserved for the S4, delivering 329 hp and 325 pound-feet of torque, with average fuel economy of 29 mpg". So the new S4 is 4hp less and gets better average economy then the A4. WHaaa!!

That's European cycle numbers, much more optimistic than our EPA ratings. And it doesn't really matter what they rate the engine at since it's grossly underrated as is.
