Popping sound in reverse when turning steering wheel

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
When I go to reverse into my parking spot at home, I get this loud popping sound, almost as if something is breaking from the front of the car.. it sounds like its from the suspension somewhere.. almost like plastic cracking/breaking.
It only happens when I have to turn my steering wheel all the way, and then once I start to back in and turning the steering wheel back straight.
    It happens for both directions.

    Any ideas?

I had a similar issue. Got so bad that it popped when pulling into tight parking spaces or stopping abruptly. It ended up being a worn out lower control arm. Worth a look!

hrmmm.. I did have the lower control arms replaced per the TSB due to the steering wheel shimmy at highway speeds..

i have similar issue, but only when going faster in reverse, full turn steering wheel. I was told that quattro system naturally has some slipping when you do that, and that's the noise.
