I had AWE quad exhaust on my 2010, but a garbage truck decided not stop and totaled my car (avatar). So I purchased a 2012 Avant prestige full S-line. I immediately ordered AWE duel exhaust and they said it would take 8 1/2 weeks! I think I'm down to 6 1/2.

Ordered the AWE exhaust and was told it would be shipped in 3 - 5 weeks. Two months later, I was told that prices have gone up and shipping has now doubled to $900 :(.
Decided I couldn't justify the unreasonable shipping costs so canceled my order.
    Do I regret it? No
Am I happy with my custom exhaust? Yes
Do I ever think about how the AWE would have sounded [and looked]? Absolutely!

You will be fortunate to get it in 6 weeks. It will probably be closer to 8 weeks.

Hi all - hoping everyone's well.

Hoping those of you that received an AWE Tuning system enjoy them as much as we enjoy making them. Our lead times are coming down as we speak, as a result of the hiring of additional key staff and the implementation of new processes. So, to answer your question, we're looking at between 6 and 8 weeks turnaround. You'll be happy you waited - FWIW I just acquired a B8 A4 and this will be one of the first upgrades - it's a phenomenal system.

As far as the shipping, just so we're on the same page, we did not raise the price on any systems after ordering, and any special pricing that happened while the Exhaust was on order would have been applied. On the shipping price topic, shipping quotes are good for 30 days, but with this one we were willing to absorb 50% of the increase, but I think you still opted to cancel? In any case, if there's ever anything we can do for you, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks, all.

I don't want to go into details on the OPs thread and I apologize beforehand for doing so but I don't appreciate things being said that are not true. I paid for my exhaust in full and was told that it would be 3 - 5 weeks until shipped. TWO MONTHS later, I was told that fuel costs have gone up and in turn shipping prices have doubled - I was then asked the question: Do you wish to cancel the order or pay the difference?
After having transferred a whopping $2.1k already, I was in no way interested to pay the difference.

Nonetheless, I am 100% certain that I would have been ecstatic with your exhaust system.

Roy, I am going to jump in here for Jesse. There is inaccurate info being thrown around here and I do not want forum members to get the wrong impression.

    1) Once someone places an order with us for one of our exhausts, even if there is a price increase between the time they place the order and the time the system is ready to ship, we will never increase the price on the product they ordered. Their order will always be at the price when they placed the order. However, if the product goes on sale during that time, we will extend that special discounted price to them.

    2) The only exception to this rule is shipping costs. We have no control over shipping costs, and state so on our sales orders sent to clients. Shipping quotes used to be good for 30 days, but the recent volatility of fuel costs has caused us to back that down to 15 days. For shipments within North America, this is typically not ever a problem (never an increase), but you are in Lebanon, and indeed there was a huge price increase to us (double) from the time you placed your order to the time it was ready to ship. However, because we did go past our stated build time, we offered to absorb 50% of this increase, which you were not interested in.

I understand that the transaction did not go the way you hoped, but just so everyone understands, we did not increase the price of the exhaust to you during the build time, and we did try to help offset the shipping cost increases which we have no control over.

If we had a stocking dealer in Lebanon, this would have been a non-issue, as it is a non-issue for our brand in a lot of regions in Asia these days. However, there apparently are not enough Audis in Lebanon to warrant a dedicated tuner there?

Sorry it did not work out!

Todd, I did not throw inaccurate information. As you mentioned, shipping prices had gone up and you had no control over them which is fully understandable.
You are right in that AWE had offered to absorb 50% of the price increase, and I apologize for not having revealed that info (Shows the kind of customer service AWE offers)

However, I had never mentioned that the price of the exhaust was increased, but rather shipping costs; which for me [or any individual] simply means "more money out the wallet".

I was simply giving the OP a heads up that shipping costs may go up so as to not get surprised as I was. But as you state, this rarely happens within the US so he should be fine.

I too am sorry that it didn't work out as I am certain I would have been very happy with your exhaust system, as I am with all other AWE parts that I possess on my A5; which when you think about it, is basically everything offered for the 2.0T.

To be clear [to all forum members], in no way was I insulting AWE or their methods, I was just elaborating my experiences as an fyi to others.
Who knows?! I may very likely purchase an AWE system on my next Audi despite the outrageous shipping costs to Lebanon

Could always plan ahead. This isnt the type of upgrade that one can just drive to the local shop, pick it off a shelf and say - sure, that one works fine. Especially, if you have to move from single outlet to dual, which obviously needs more parts, etc.

For me, I like AWE's reputation, reviews and sound. When I do get the upgrade, I'll plan it around a nice sale :) and fitment at a date more convenient to be without my car for a day or two. Not all exhausts are made equal - if you find a make you want, go for it and just realize it may take some planning.
