Done a search and seen the arguments of TopTier Gas vs. others.
I've also heard from Costco employees that Costco gets their gas from Shell, Chevron, Exxon, and other top tier oil companies ...
After shopping in Costco for years, their steak, meat, fruits, products, grocery are all top-tier high quality products,
and some argue that - so is their gas!
The Costco I shop is relatively new. Some argue that newer gas pumps and tanks hold less water, compared to older gas stations.
That being said, have any of you tried Costco gas on your S5? We have 93 Octane here. Some would argue that 93 Octane is 93 Octane, but that Shell or Chevron has better detergent.
I just got the Amex Costco card that rebates 3% on gas for any station which I can also use with any Shell station, but Costco always has cheaper gas (in addition to the 3% rebate).
I figures I will save more than $100 a year using Costco gas vs Shell. So, if I save at least $500 in 5 years, I'll just use that money to have my manifold intake cleaned if ever there's carbon build up after my 4 year warranty expires. What do you think ?
Anyway, my office is very near a Shell station, which I always pass by on the way home. And I'm probably gonna try Costco just once to see what happens in terms of performance and MPG. And if gets decent MPG and no pings/hesitation at high speed compared to Shell, hmmm ... I may be open to it.
