    Helo im a new one here! As no one didnt help in the last forum i really hope here is somebody that could help me a bit in this.
    When i am turning the engine manualy (crankshaft bolt) clokvise 2 times to chek is everyting okey, somehowe during the process tensioner udjustment is moving (i colored it in red). Is that a normal thing or it should be in one steady pleace when you have tighten it to the 25nm=45 degress and turn the engine whit help of crankshaft bolt



    And the 2 thing is this. I broked my air con compressor... Dont ask how ii have this problem whit me that i allways want to know everything.
    Is it possible that i could just replace the roller for air con? our now that i have broken the metal cap holder and actually that is the roller holder i need a new air con comp?
    If so .can i remove it buy my self ? How to get rid of the cooland and the pressure from the system?

    Is this the 4 cylinder diesel? That's neat, we didn't get this engine in the US.

    That tensioner system is the same as is used on the Jetta's over here. Yes, it is normal for the spring loaded tensioner to move a bit while rotating the engine. For proper tension the "pointer" should be checked at a certain position after rotating it. I believe you should rotate it around and stop at TDC. At that position the pointer should be within the notched area like your photo indicates in RED. If not, you should adjust it using the VW tool to add spring pre-load to the tensioner, then re-tighten the nut and rotate and check again.

    As for the A/C compressor, I do believe you can replace just the pulley itself. It is expensive from Audi, though. So you might be better buying a used compressor at a junkyard and just swapping the pulley yourself. Keep the compressor as a spare. For the 4cyl diesel engine (AVB, AVF, AWX, BKE engine codes), this should be the replacement pulley:

    Do jou really think that i can leave it holding only on the o ring? But definitely changing the pulley.

    Forget that!
    How to get rid of the pressure in the A/C system ? Should i just lossen the bolts a litle and let the pressure come out for a while!? If it doesnt work like that just tell me

    Do not, I repeat DO NOT vent the refrigerant to atmosphere. Besides the fact that doing so is highly illegal, High pressure liquid refrigerant will boil instantly on exposure to atmosphere, absorbing large amounts of heat. If this stuff gets anywhere near your clothes/skin/eyes you will be in a world of frostbitten hurt. Plus you wouldn't want to breathe that shit in your lungs either.

    Take it to an A/C shop and get them to recover whats in the system for you. Its the only safe way.

    I'm not exactly sure what you broke there. Perhaps you have broken more than just the pulley - rather, you have broken the front of the compressor which receives the pulley bolt or something.

    Anyway, yes - you must get the A/C system discharged properly if you plan to remove or replace the compressor. If you have just broken the pulley, that part should be available through the dealer as a separate item and would be a cheaper and easier repair. Good Luck!

    You could try to run a smaller belt and just bipass the AC for the time being

    Sorry for the pure ignorance i had back then Yes it is 1.9tdi avb actually easy to work on engine once you get to know it for a bit i still own the car. I had to change the compressor it was toast anyways and i still have it for my spares lol..The tensioner has a slight spring type movement depending on the engine acceleration but it ill always land back in the little notch where it should be. I have done the belt 3 more times now lol and it has 260 000 miles on the clock just about to do the full clutch service.
