    Wheel Repair Kits?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Unfortunately, I just nicked my left rear wheel on some raised pavement while entering a parking garage. It's driving me nuts. Here's what the damage looks like. Can anyone recommend any wheel repair kits (if there is such a thing)? Any other thoughts on repair would also be appreciated. Thnx.

Take it to a wheel repair shop or have a mobile wheel repair service come out and fix it. There should be plenty of both in Chicago. If you aren't sure who to use, ask a local wheel/tire shop or local forum who they recommend. It should run around $100 to $130. Most reputable places will do a good job and you won't even notice. It is not worth trying to do it yourself from my experience.

I had some curb damage recently repaired on a set of Advan Racing wheels that had an anodized lip, and it turned out perfect. I was worried going in (the wheels cost $800+ each), but it turned out great. I actually sent mine to the repair shop through my local Discount Tire. They handled dismounting the tire, and sending it in. Most places can turn it around in a day or two, and the mobile services will usually do it on the spot.

Easy to fix yourself if you have a minimal amount of paint and auto body skill. Did the repair on my 04 Avus wheels and turned out well. Check this out . Everything you need plus all instuctions of how to do it with pictures. http://www.autopia-carcare.com/realwhda.html. But in my experience, the Wurth paint did not match the Avus wheels very well. But Einszett Silber paint matched much better. Not sure how either will match the current Audi wheels

Do yourself a favor and hire a wheel repair shop or mobile outfit and save yourself a LOT of grief.Had worse damage on my 2 front rims with an 06 Lexus IS350 with 18s.For $200 they came to my home with a box truck, took off the 2 fronts, fixed them like new with no paint matching issues, put them back on my car and took off in less than an hour and a half.

Thnx, guys. I like the idea of a DIY method, but ultimately I think it's probably best to just take it in to a wheel repair shop. I'd rather pay the $100 or so to make sure it's done right.
