buy ck04's from ebay 500$ tops - then buy new chra's from BAE 590$ and you have 99% equivalent reliability to BW k04 - you will need to port the exhaust manifold wastegate and adjust the lifter arms though.

if you arnt handy, then just buy frankenturbo or BW

Don't even bother wasting your labor hours money on cheap chinese turbos. You'll save more money in the long run from buying proven quality turbos. If you do go with the cheap turbos, I'd be curious to see how well they function and last. IMO, you should Save up till you got enough to get good ones man.

So you have installed ebay turbos? I'm not knocking it or anything. From what I've heard they break easily and don't last very long.

And what you have heard is absolutely right - mine failed at 1000 miles on a stage 3- tune they started whistling after 100 miles

By fail I mean both bearings/seals just couldn't hold up and were dripping oil (small puddles in inlets and IC hoses)

I modified mine right away to fix http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...oost-Creep-FTL

Ported the exhaust wastegate holes and adjusted the lifter arm lengths so that they would open like the OEM one does

Replaced the chra's with new ones built and balanced by BAE - so far so good, no whistle, no problems,

    Total was 1100$

You could go this route, would save you modifying the wastegate side of things so 1000 + 590 and you have a set of solid like new k04's = 1590$

Or you go my route, with a little grinding etc 500+590 = 1090$

Or you buy brand new = 2500$ @ ecs or something similar

DO NOT BUY RP - its the same shit as the china k04's from ebay with shitter than shit chra's

Never ever get RP K04's for our cars. After running them on my old silver sedan, I'd sum them up by saying the following: I would have been better off installing blown Borg Warner K04's than installing those RP pieces of shit.

All these RP threads! I wonder how many people buy these things without doing any research.
