    Anyone running this Vibrant muffler?

I know Vibrant has a good reputation for quality, I'm more concerned about the sound and if the matte will hold up to the elements. I'm coming from a single 3 inch straight pipe and I need to quiet it down a bit (I'm getting sick of being pulled over by the po-po) but I still want to keep some of the poppy burbly-ness.

Also the matte black would compliment my matte black roof and cupra lip

I have an a4, so you may not be interested in what i am about to say. Well, i have a single 2.5" inlet to dual 3" out matte black vibrant muffler. I love it, decent rasp, little to no drone, and then when the rasp os gone, just great sound. I have some sound clips i will post. Also, the matte black looks sweet.

Just click on pictures to see video.

    Sounds good!

So from what I can gather, with the exception of the straight-through race designs, most Vibrant mufflers are similar in regards to their sound absorption qualities and materials used? When looking at their website its tough to see the differences...

had one on my prelude, it was way too loud, it is a straight through muffler, so dont expect quiet. Pair it with a resonator, and you should get a good sound out of it though.

My exhaust set up in the video was test pipe, piping, muffler, no resonators. Although, i believe the s4 should be louder, but the turbos should quiet it down considerably compared to a naturally aspirated motor.

I currently run a single 3" Borla, but the mufflers dont look so hot. I was linking at this very same vibrant 3" inlet and dual outlet muffler. I plan to lop off both borla mufflers and use this.

Vibrant Streetpower mufflers are the only mufflers I use on every single one of my cars. Love the sound, love the look, high quality, but most specifically they have a huge variety of sizes.

    My S4 (4" inlet, dual 3" outlet)

yeah, the prelude was a pretty high compression(11:1) NA motor, not exactly quiet when you put a straight through muffler on there. On the S4, I would pair it with a resonator, I prefer a smoother sound to the raspy/racy sound, but thats just me.

S4s are so quiet to begin with (probably due to the small exhaust housing turbos).

Well I'm coming from a straight pipe and I don't mind the current level of noise at all. My main reason for doing this is to get some police attention away from me. Plus my rear bumper is getting all burnt and warped from the flames that my car shoots

Max@034 your car sounds soo pissed!!

I really like the flat black muffler on a black car very subtle.

Thanks Jason! She definitely got a LOT louder with the motor build and GT28R exhaust housings. It was perfect with the tiny little K03's, not very raspy; but now with the larger exhaust housing, its insanely loud.

I recently added High Flow Cats and it helped cut down the raspiness, but overall didn't quiet it down very much.

Surprisingly enough, its wonderful when cruising. I can hold a conversation with the girlfriend, we've done many road trips, taken my parents around. Its only once you get on the throttle, and the wastegates open, that it gets REALLY loud.
