Mitsubishi EVO Recaro seats

I've been searching for about a year now trying to find some seats that will look good in the S4 and still be cost effective. I know a couple of guys on the forum have installed the EVO IX seats in their cars and I wanted to know what you guys think about them? I've never sat in them so any input would be great.

The first s4 I ever drove had evo 8 seats in it. They were good for the short test drive but idk long distance. Look awesome with the car tho. GL

The seating position and comfort are my main concerns. I'm going to be doing a little autocrossing and I'm 6'3 so I want to make sure I'll fit.

Maybe I should cut out the cushion like this guy did:http://www.audiworld.com/tech/ and wear a pair of rubber pants so I don't slip and slide in the seat.

Thank you for the link but most of the content in that thread only touches on the surface. I'm looking for more before I drop btw $600-$1000 on these seats and brackets.

True, just though i'd add it to this thread...plus it has pics for those who haven't seen them installed. On a personal note i have rode in many EVO's and I do not like those seats. To me there are uncomfortable and I felt like i got swallowed up when i sat in them(I'm 5'10) you being taller might help. Spirited driving they keep you planted but just not for me. The new EVO X seats felt alot better but they are just ugly as hell.

I like this idea. It beats 1600 a seat. Is this a good seat for being over 6 foot? Our seats now just about don't cut it. I have it to the floor and I have about a inch above my head

Check out the corbeau line up. You can get the cr1's and a couple other models for about 450'a piece shipped. Seems to have good reviews and it looks like they can even closely match the alcantara...

Exactly why I'm trying to replace mine. I would love to be able to keep all the functionality of our OEM seats (power, heated, leather), but not for over $3k.

Yes leather and power is a must. Even if it only moves front to back. I'm not worried about heated seats because I don't have them. I did in my A4 and do miss them..

Just looked at the Corbeau A4's...Leather, lumbar bladder, heated, and brackets comes to be around $1750 for both seats. That's not including shipping and tax.
