Sirius trial finally kicked, now cant get it working again

So after 15 months my 90 day free trial finally ended. I got so used to it that I never used the regular radio. Now I have no clue what stations to listen to(thats besides the point).

So I called up Sirius and ordered the simply music and navtraffic for a year. Gave them both my audio and data codes that were coming up on the screen. After 10 tries(both night and day) it would not receive the signal to start up again.

They said I need to have my radio reset for it to work, is this true? Will the three button reset work for this? Anyone else experience this issue?

Was this yesterday? The reason I ask is my SIRIUS was acting up, 'rebuilding station list' like 4 or 5 times within a cpl hrs.

There may have been solar flare activity that was causing issues and keeping you from getting it to sync.

It was all night sunday night and all morning yesterday. It was quite thunderstormy so Im wondering if that had anything to do with it. However, the earliest my dealer can take me in to reset it is next Tuesday. I really dont want to wait a week for this to start working.

Had the same problem with mine. Mine was supposed to renew automatically, but didn't for some unknown reason. I actually had to bring it to my dealer and somehow they got it working again.

Did you by chance go to this site and send a reactivation? I had to do this for the traffic to come back as my free trial ended and I signed up. You have to be on channel 184 and out in the open sky to get it to reactivate. Worked like a charm for me in about 10 minutes with the car on and tuned to station 184.

Yeah, I have an appointment next week at service to have this checked out. Just seems like it wont refresh on its own.

I was on the phone with them having them send the refresh signals. Everyone says I have to be on channel 184 but this is really frustrating because you CANT change channels! Its just a note screen that says I have to call up and subscribe. Apparently this is channel 184 but who the hell knows. They said I should be hearing some talking on this channel but I dont hear anything.

On a drive to CT on Friday, I called while on the Jersey TPKE doing 70mph and had the traffic option added to my subscription. While on the phone with the gal, the radio displayed "subscription being updated" and then eventually "subscription updated" appeared and the traffic info started streaming in. My radio at the time was set to the first channel that displays the codes, and the navigation system was running as well as my phone via bluetooth. In my previous car, I would at times have to send a request via XM's website to refresh the radio (probably the wrong term), but otherwise, sounds like the dealership is your best bet.

Update: Brought the car into service and they reset my radio and now its working finally. Sidenote, when I called Sirius to get credit for all the days it wasnt working I ended up getting frustrated with the non-english speaking individual, I was passed on to someone that spoke perfect english. During that conversation, not only was I able to get credit for the 10 days it wasnt working, but I negotiated a better deal at $77/yr for the Sirius Select. Im pretty happy with that.
