Are you referring to autolocking the doors after the speed exceeds about 10 mph - that's done by coding module 46. If it's locking after 60 seconds if you haven't opened a door after unlocking using the remote - I don't think so. The 2nd one is a good safety factor IMO - it handles the accidental press of the unlock button and then walking away from the vehicle.

Second one, while working on a tire rotation it tripped while jacking, I doubt I will ever talk away without setting alarms so I don't see the value in having this feature.

You disable it by opening a door before the auto lock timer runs out.

I've just fitted xenons to my halogen B7 A4, with a kufatec harness. Installed the 2 extra wires into the connector in the drivers footwell. Recoded to xenon in vagcom. Dipped (low) beams work fine now, however I have an issue with the main (high) beam.

When operating the main beam, instead of using the separate main beam bulb, it's using the dipped beam and changing the height to aim it upwards. And it only works to flash the lights, if you turn the main beam onto constant it just flashes as above and goes back to normal dipped beam.

    Any ideas?

You might try the lighting section or contact RossTech directly. They provide some support for users trying to solve coding issues like this.

I am trying to do the Remote Windows hack, but when I click on the Module 46 button, it shows a different code(12092) than the 11896 in the example. I am using the most recent version of the VCDS software 17.1.3

You need to adjust the coding value to match the combination of options you wish to set - it can be different for every car.

    C00,Comfort System (J393) Coding
C01,+00001 = Great Britain Alarm (not USA)
    C02,+00002 = Confirmation Anti-Theft Warning System (Blink)
C03,+00004 = Selective Central Locking (SCL)
    C04,+00008 = Anti-Theft-System installed
    C05,+00016 = Rear Lid Release Locking at 5 km/h
    C06,+00032 = Auto-Lock/Unlock (Locking at 15 km/h)
C07,+00064 = Comfort Function via Remote Control (not USA)
C08,+00128 = Right Hand Drive (RHD)
    C09,+00256 = Chassis Type Avant/Wagon
C10,+00512 = Remote Control "Close" Confirmation (1x Turn Signals)
    C11,+01024 = Anti-Theft Locking Confirmation (Siren/Horn)
    C12,+02048 = Door/Window Logic (USA / Terminal 87)
    C13,+04096 = Thatcham Anti-Theft Warning (not USA)
    C14,+08192 = Central Locking SAFE-Function not installed/active
C15,+16384 = Side Windows with Insulated Glass
    C16,
C17,Note #1: Coding Value is the Sum of the individual Options!
C18,Note #2: You can also use the Coding Assist/Helper!

Nope - fogs are fixed to the specific rear bulbs they are currently at.

is there a way to disable the rear wiper activation, when the car is in reverse?

I searched, and it seems you can on B8 and later cars, but wasn't sure if you could on a B7.

I posted to my own thread because this thread didn't seem to be updated in quite a little while. However this might be the better place to have it posted I guess

I’ve got a 2006 A4 2.0T Manual Quattro. I was lucky to get a vagcom cable to borrow. I installed the very latest version of the software. I hooked it up and everything is good. I searched on the internet and these are things I want to do and the instructions I tried to follow. My problem is I was either unable to follow the instructions or the change didn’t make a difference.

    Open all doors on unlock
    Double beep on unlock
    Disable auto up/down windows
Set location - My clock display in 24 hours which drives me f***ing crazy. I want to set the location hoping that will set it to 12 hour clock

    Open all doors on unlock
Module 46 (Central Convienence), recode to [existing value - 4]
So whatever is there I just subtract 4? ie. value is 11900 what do I do? I think some info is missing from wherever I got this info

    Disable Auto up/down window
    [42 - Door Elect, Driver]
    [Coding - 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] -> Byte 5 Bit -> 1 Change 0 to 1
    I don’t have module 42 maybe it’s 09?

    Set location
    [Select]
    [17 - Instruments]
    [Recode - 07]
Look at the first two digits in the coding. Add the values for the options together to get the correct coding.
    00 - No available equipment
+01 - Brakepad wear sensor warning active
+02 - Seatbelt warning active
+04 - Washer fluid level warning active (may only work with pre-2000 models)
+16 - Navigation System (non-USA models)

Look at the third digit in the coding (Market version):
0 - "Germany" 24 hour clock
1 - "Rest of World" 24 hour clock
2 - "USA" 12 hour clock
3 - "Canada" 12 hour clock

Look at the fourth digit in the coding (Cylinders):
    4 - 4-cylinder
6 - 6-cylinder

Look at the fifth digit in the coding (Distance impulse multiplier):
    0 - TDI Engine (non-USA models)
2 - Non-turbo Gasoline engine
4 - Turbocharged engine
So, if you want to have Seatbelt warning and washer fluid warning only in a 1999 Canadian A4 2.8, (add 00+02+04 = 06),3,4,4= 06344
I went to this location but the software hint displayed a different set of options that what these instructions are telling me to do. I followed those instructions and changed it from Germany to Canada but the car is still showing 24 hour clock

    Double Beep
    Enable Double Disarm Beep
    [46 - Central Conv.]
[Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 63 -> Add 4 to what ever value is there. I.E. if the current value is 3 your new value will be 7
Channel 63 gives me an error, Channel 62 is available but it does not give me any option for the double beep

Added some screenshots for more details. Are my instructions wrong? Is it missing some steps?

    @A4_PimP

There are multiple things you need to do in sequence. Don't just add/subtract numbers as the effect depends upon what was orginally coded in each of the different areas.

Start with Module 46 - Central Module Comfort System. Map your original value, 11900, against the list of coding values shown in the pop-up; the important thing is ensure +00064 is enabled - this enables use of the key fob for remote control options.

Now go to Adaptation Channel #62 in Module 46 and enable the coding values to match the options you want the remote to control (up down windows, door lock etc).

Refer to Post 330 in this thread

For the clock setting I think you just have to go into the trip computer settings using the stalk; will check that when my wife comes home with the wagon
Last edited by a4audi4fun; 10-11-2017 at 06:50 PM. Reason: corrected channel to be #62, rather than #42

Thanks, yeah that’s why I haven’t made any changes yet. I’ve gone through this whole post three or four times. Damn I feel like a dummy at this point. I’ll go back and check out 330 like you said. Please let me know about this wiper stalk business. I’m an Audi noob and I was told twice you could do it via the stalk. I got in the car tried and couldn’t get it.

I know some people are familiar with Nick's Car Blog so check out this http://nickscarblog.com/cars/must-ha...6-and-b7-audis because it gave me the exact info I needed. It's the same info I've been told by members on AZ but with the pictures and his numbers being the same as mine it makes it a lot easier hopefully this helps someone else as well.

My Avant has a colour cluster, PN 8E0 920 932 A with trip computer. I use the reset button on the wiper stalk (flat button) and have Mode 1, Mode 2 and a Menu option. Under the Menu option I can set the clock for 12 or 24 hr mode and the date format DD/MM or MM/DD.

FWIW - I am coded as country ROW since I did the H/W headlight switch mod so that I can have independent foglights on with tailights on and city lights only (no front sidelight).

You don’t have it. #povertyedition. My old b7 had the same problem. It only came on b7s with right package combo.

There’s a fairly cheap and easy diy retrofit. You just need to buy the new stalk. Search trip computer diy on Audizine.

This is what the trip computer stalk looks like; reset button is underneath and toggle switch on the end - as mentioned by Charles, trip computer retrofit requires the stalk and coding of the instrument cluster; that was done for my Avant

Thanks guys I’m def going to look into it. My Passat had that kind of wiper stalk.

    The Official B7 A4 VAG-COM Modification Walkthrough

Well tonight I got a bunch of codes and the ECP light on after some rain. After doing an autoscan for codes. I popped into module 17 and changed the country from Canada to US. The clock changed to 12 hours thank god. Everything changed to miles as well ofcourse lol but tomorrow morning I’ll change it back to Canada and see if the clock stays 12 hour or reverts.

Changing back to Canada reverts to 24 hour clock. I tried Germany and Britain and the only country that had 12 hour clock was US.

    What I have:

    VCDS ($100 version)
    Ebay Cable

    Issue:
Ebay cable and VCDS reads all modules except for ABS and Engine (wont read DTC codes).

Can anyone tell me if it's my car or the cable? Why would the cable work for all of the other modules but not for the engine?

Is VCDS displaying any kind of an error? If a module or the k-line is inop VCDS will appear to disconnect.

Do you have the wiper stalk with the rocker switch on the end? Associated with the trip computer? I was dead set on getting rid of the door open chime by coding to Britain I believe, and had to retrofit the trip computer wiper stalk in order to change the units back to US.

Edit: I should've read back a few posts. As a few other people mentioned, it's a pretty easy retrofit

Been about 5-6 years since I've used Vag-Com on my B6. What steps do you take to get a B7 A4 with bixenons coded to "rest of the world", so I can run independent foglights? I've researched again but have yet to find a step by step. Thanks guys.

    @DownhillA4

Here you go - did this on my B7 and it works a treat - minor wiring change and a VCDS recode

Yeah I read that and in time that’s probably what I’ll do. Winter is coming here in so most of my mods are going to have to wait till next spring. I might tape a digital watch over the cluster lol

Lol. I feel you about the weather though. I need to find some interior mods/retrofits that I can do in the coming months...

Yeah I’m hoping to finish the center console swap this weekend before it’s too cold to get it done :(
