    Turning off DRL

    I am trying to turn off the halogen DRL lights. I am currently running both my fogs and original DRL as my DRL setup but i have yellow fogs so they look stupid with two different colors. I have tried every single option in vag com, byte 03 in 09 cent. elec, that i can think of and have not been able to turn off the original DRL while just having the fogs on. Can someone point me in the right direction. I have searched on the forums but havent been able to find what i am looking for.

    I assume you know that you can turn them off in the car menu. However, because you want to run just the fogs, you are probably using the parking light setting which turns them back on at the dim setting.

    IIRC, byte 2 controls what constitutes a DRL. However, with the halogen lights, this is already set to 00... With the LEDs, it is set to 10.

    If there isn't an option to disable them as a DRL, you can set the dimmed DRL adaptation value to 0. You will have an error, but they will be off.

    [09 – Cent. Elect.]
[Security Access - 16] (enter security code. One of the default codes is- 20113)
[Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 3
Enter new value for LED brightness i.e. "100" If you want LED's at 100%.
Values bellow 5 turns the LED's off and generates an error code and warning in DIS .

    I know about the option of turning them off in the car menu, but i am not using the parking light setting. I have my lights set at off. If there is no other way of turning them off i will just live with it instead of having an error show up all the time

    So it looks like this thread has been dead a while, but maybe you've found a solution to this? I got my DRLs and Fogs to work together (sounds like you did too) but I want to turn off the DRLs and just leave the fogs. Any luck?

    Sorry for the later response. No I never did find a solution for it and I don't have the car anymore to try and play with it again.

    I'm interested to know how can we disable the DRL. I just want them off all time.

    I am sort of having the same problem right now, but i want to use the front turn signals as parking lights. I have been able to activate the turn signals as parking lights, but the drl is still on.

    I'm thinking of just cutting the wire for the DRL. I have chosen to do a custom projector headlight retrofit and led stripping inside my halogen headlight. I know I'll have a warning light all the time so my other option is to take the wires and ground them out as to make the sensor think it's working.
