A3 Model Year / Trim Guide?

I've been looking at A3s lately as a commuter replacement for my B7S4, is there anywhere that has a good guide of the options/changes by year?

Are there any differences in the available seats, and if so, with what package? Sometimes it seems like there are better looking seats with more lateral support, but it doesn't seem consistent with cars listed with "sport" or "s-line" packages.

Just my two cents, but it seems like a lot of people with the FSI engine A3 8P(2008 and below) have more problems with reliability and those with the newer TSI engine (2008.5 to current). Something you might want to consider if you are looking at a commuter car. Don't have a clue where to find a comparison chart that you are looking for.

same as above, if you want an earlier model make sure all the problems are fixed, such as the cam follower issues. TSI is really the way to go.

Good to note. I was originally looking for an 09+ for the facelift but was actually thinking about saving a few bucks and going for something a little older to open up the selection. Think I'll stay away from that now. Still new enough that its hard to find the right package of options I'm looking for.

08.5 is when they first came out with the TSI motor in our cars, but it's pre-facelift. If you like the pre style, that would be the ideal model to get. Now getting one that suites you might be an even harder challenge lol

Ahh! That explains it! I had seen that in a couple of ads and was like wtfmate. Prefer the facelift style, will just be patient. Want white/black 2.0/dsg with just about all of the options (don't need/want alcantara inserts).... not picky much at all.
