clunking noise from the front when turning steering wheel

    Hi.
I started hearing clunking noise coming from the driver side front of the car (I assume that it's from the suspension) when I turn the steering wheel.
The weird thing is that it doesn't make that noise all the times but happens randomly after driving the car for more than 30 minutes.
For example, from cold start, I don't hear any clunking noise when I drive around and turn the steering wheel but if I drive for about 30 minutes or more, I start hearing this clunking noise when I turn the steering wheel randomly (happened yesterday, doesn't happen today although I drove for more than 1 hour).

I'm taking my car to audi tomorrow (monday) but I'm afraid that they may not be able to duplicate the problem and not doing anything.
Has anyone had the similar problem?
If there is some sort of TSB#, that would be very helpful.
    Thank You

My car had that problem before, Took it to the dealer and they replace one off the power steering hose.

Recall it is a TSB that Blake mentioned awhile ago.
Suggest if dealer dealer service dept is clueless/can't replicate the problem, you tell them to search for TSB's

wheel bearing could make that kind of noise.

    Thanks guys!
So, the problem can be either wheel bearing or power steering hose or TSB that Blake_P had?
The car only has 17K miles and it's hard to believe that the wheel bearing can wear out already.
I don't understand why the noise is not there all the time though.
I just drove about 50 miles and I didn't hear the noise at all.

Could be a loose front swaybar if you have ever loosened it (spring or coilover install) The reason I say this I just went through this yesterday and today while out of town....No issue before and then came out to the car and drove it and started to get clinking noise when driving slower (below 50mph) and turning and hitting bumps. When I arrives home took off the wheels and found the front sway bolt loose....I dunno just a thought....

In my opinion, it can be anything that we can possibly think of.
However, one thing that really confuses me, is that the problem is not ALWAYS there.
Yesterday, I heard this noise all day long.
Today, It didn't make the noise one single time.
If it is sway bar being loose or something else being loose, the noise should be there all the times and the dealer can easily duplicate the problem but if it randomly happens, they can't duplicate it.

Was that problem always there or was it more of random thing that happens on one day and doesn't happen on the next day?

I think I may have the same issue. Mine noise is heard when I'm reversing slowly at a parking lot or slowly entering a parking lot when turning the steering wheel either way. The noise is like a clicking/clunking sound but it's not consistent. Sometimes I will hear it, sometimes I won't. It's more predominate when the car is warm than cold.

I did take it into the Dealer, but surprise surprise, they didn’t find anything wrong. I have no clue either what it could be. I did have the power steering hose replaced as per the TSB. So it couldn't be that.
